OUT OF STATE JOB DISCRIMINATION? I (24F) and trying to relocate to Southern California. Theee months in to the job search and only two interviews. The most common rejection was current local (Midwest) almost all day it’s because I’m far even though i have lots of experience in my marketing field. Just want to get out of the Midwest asap!

Does anyone have an idea on what salary should be expected when applying to a major biotech company (GSK, Novartis, J&J, AbbVie etc...) as an entry level (3 years experience) Pharmacology & Toxicology master degree with an emphasis in Drug Discovery and Development with technical expertise in electrophysiology/neuroscience domain (several published papers on sodium channels) ?

Technical interviewers keep asking current offer and salary details before proceeding for interviews and tailor interviews to accept or reject..
They are checking budgets or want to compare their salaries for switching seems :P

If we are in the red zone and failed both the sme interviews is what it meant performance exit or we will still be considered for an FTE? I have heard that people with both the sme failures are still pulled in the projects and are full time! Should we be in a hope or look out for other jobs?

I applied for and was screened by HR for a Director position. It wasn't a good fit but I was passed over to another VP. I had a phone interview with that VP which went very well. He expressed interest in creating a Director level role for me based on my experience and interests. I received feedback via a 3rd-party recruiter that the company is in the process of creating a req. and will bring me on-site for another interview. Problem: They changed the level to Principal Eng.
