New to consulting and the big 4 - have been extended on the same project since joining. The project does not align to the skills or experience I was hired for and has been extremely challenging due to the lack of project organization and proper staffing. I received ‘progressing towards level’ on my last engagement review. How do I get off this project that’s clearly not a fit before it negatively impacts my overall career at the firm?
Wow I thought after I had my CPA and three years experience at a national PA firm doing audit, I could land any job I wanted. Turns out not the case lol. I am getting ghosted on my applications for senior accountant / financial analyst positions for bigger name companies.. Wish I did B4 now, anyone experiencing the same thing?
Should someone with an MSBA still go for MBA, or is time better spent elsewhere (I.e self learning, starting a side hustle)? Long term goal is to have my own company, and plan B would be management at a large corporate. Currently in a big 4. Thanks!
Is it normal in Big 4 to: 1. Assign tasks with least amount of direction, context and criticize for not thinking on the feet? 2. Assign more than one task at the same time and push for updates on all?
What is the typical pay range at Big 4 for senior architects (or whatever they call them for that position) working in M&A tech diligence?
For not so high paying professions like audit in big 4 — is it better to choose a low cost city as your base rather than NYC, SF, Boston. I assume the salary difference will never make up for the cost
Dumb question but why are salaries higher in big 4 in advisory compared to audit and tax?
Fishes - curious about % raise in salaries at Big 4 and boutique consulting firms given the high inflation. What have folks been getting? Heard some tech firms offer raises as a “cost of living” adjustments but not sure how real that is
Is switching to a regional (6 offices) firm from big 4 a career step back? Looking to leave, lots of smaller firms interested but worry it’s a backwards move.
For the past 2 years I have completely obsessed with the idea of becoming a big 4 partner. I took the kool-aid willingly and essentially started injecting it into my veins. (Continued within)
Does PwC (or other Big 4) automatically stop taking the FICA tax out of your paycheck once the annual limit ($128,400) is reached? Or do you just get the extra contributions back in your refund?
£68k + car allowance of £4.5k at a Big 4. I'm in my second year as M.
Am I being done dirty?
If you leave a local firm and go to big 4, there's an obvious learning curve, no? How have you all seen that addressed if coming in at the SA level from a smaller firm ?
I've been in international tax for the better part of a decade, 6 years in academia and 4 years in practice. I'm from the US but my work has also been split between living/working in the US and abroad (EU, UAE, Canada). I'm trying to find a place to apply my background outside of law firms/Big 4. Any recommendations? Know any PE firms/startups/companies looking for someone with my background? Recommendations welcome!
Thoughts on base salary range for experienced Consultant in Boston or NYC? 4 YOE -> 2.5 YOE in B4 consulting and 1.5 in public sector with an MPA. Could be MBB, Tier 2, B4, Guidehouse / Slalom etc.
Do back office MDs (in like tech, strategy…) at MS/GS/JP make similar amounts to a Partner at a Big 4?
Seeking Advice - currently at a Big 4 in the Tech Consulting Arm and thinking about switching to our federal practice. I am a veteran so it seems like a natural transition to me, although my biggest thing is limiting myself and long term total comp. I guess with that being said what is everyone’s opinion between Corporate Vs Federal from a TC long term pov and also what is your opinion of Federal Tech Consulting. From my experience tech is in the stone ages in the DOD so I thought it would be

I was waiting for revised offer letter but yet no luck. I called HR and now she is saying its still in process and waiting for approval from Business head. Should I wait or join other company on same date?
