Hey ladies, in need of some advice! Have been in the same company for 20 years, got headhunted for a senior exec role which I got! Am super happy but at the same time feeling anxious as to whether I will be good enough!!!
I’d be leaving behind my network and a great structure / system around me! Any advice from those that left after being in their company for so long and how they found it?

Inflation costs are killing my pipeline. Many of my deals are scaling back greatly because of their rising operating costs.

How do we overcome the inflation objection? I mean obviously the answer is to show how much value we offer, but how do we do that when all of the companies we work with barely have enough funding?

They need our services, which is at least some job security, but their scale back is greatly affecting our projections and quota attainment.

First-year looking to make a move from NY biglaw (general corp) - any tips on process? And am I giving in too early? Grateful for the experience but don’t think biglaw is for me. Want to continue to build skills but willing to give up prestige/biglaw $$ for a semblance of a life.

We as a community need to stick together to make the value of SLPs known. When I was just starting in the field for my CFY I was offered $31/hr for a job in an SNF (in 2018). At this time I was fresh out of college and did not know what pay to expect because no one talks about it. - I did not take the job due to it being a little over an hour from my home but later learned that was not a good rate. I currently still feel as if I am underpaid. Add your city, state, setting, pay, etc

Big4 and Mid tier- All partners have a vesting period and if you leave before that 10 year mark , you dont get those retirement benefits correct? I noted some firms actively push out partners nearing that 10 year period. I have seen it happen. Is that a normal practice to shake out some dead weight so to speak before they reach that 10 year mark? Seems cut throat but is that part of the business now?

I received an offer I can’t turn down. My company had a few others leave recently, and my close counterpart is on vacation until October, so the GC and rest of the company will likely be in disarray after I leave.

Any advice on how to put in my 2 weeks? I’d prefer to leave on a good note and not a sour one…

When I started in this business last century, clients were a pain in my ass. I hated them and appreciated account services keeping them at arm’s length. But that was the wrong attitude. With more experience, I started cultivating personal client relationships. So now, although I recently got caught in a layoff, I find I have enough client interest to literally start my own (small) agency.
