[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

One of mine did. In AdAge and Adweek. It was a bank, believe it or not. At the time, 2005, the 4th largest in the country and $160MM in agency billings. The head of the retail division wanted to fire us. Thought we’d done enough branding and demanded we produce a testimonial campaign or he’d find an agency who would. And it had to air in 3 months at their golf championship where Tiger was playing. We didn’t even have a strategy. But we created one, conceived and produced a broadcast, print, outdoor, and local markets campaign, across 4 banking divisions, working with great client, agency, production and media partners. It was a narrative campaign so not a talking head against white. The clients were so grateful we pulled it off they ran full page ads in the style of our testimonials approach congratulating the agency. The campaign never won any awards, of course. But it brought their 80,000 employees together. It saved the account (and a lot of agency jobs). And it brought the marketing team internal glory. The ad they ran may not be a D&AD or One Show pencil, a Lion, or an Effie. But it means just as much to me because it was even more impossible to get.
That's awesome! 👏
It’s not unheard of for a client to do that if that’s what this post is meant to imply. They do exist.
And have whole teams dedicated to awards.
Our amazing client at Leo did that for one of our ECDs for being recognized at the She Runs It Working Mom event. It was an incredibly appreciative gesture. ☺️
