We prorate and pay employees and new hires for the time they actually work. Some expectations are occasionally made but overall, prorating is our policy.

Give them the full pay and you’ll have your first superstar attorney .

Full. You can agree on this in writing. I haven't seen a firm prorate a paycheck.

Yes. But we only do so with the consent of the associate. It's okay if you that.

Having an Interview this week, and don't know how high I should set my salary expectations. I currently earn 24k/annum base + comission. Currently have about 7months exp. and thoughts on this?
Appreciate the input

What did you do to start getting clients in the door?

Our firm is growing fast and we need to add another attorney to keep up with the work. Our compensation package is 20-30% higher than what others firms in our area are offering. However, I’m still finding it difficult to get qualified associate to even apply for the position. I think part of the problem may be because we are located in a mid-sized city rather than a major metro area. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to attract talent when you are a newer small firm in a mid-size market?

Question re: salary. I’m thinking about accepting an offer at a small (4-6 attorneys) transactional firm. I would primarily be working on NDAs for clients. The role sounds great (no billable hours, fully remote, flexible hours/ can work from anywhere); however, the salary is $70K. I’m a new attorney, with only one year of experience. Does this salary seem low? If so, any advice on what someone in my position should ask for?
