Owning book, not owning book. Advantages and disadvantages to each please. At a crossroads 4 years in knowing I don't own my book. Why continue growing here vs building on my own? Is grass greener?

Same situation, only $11M with 30% MM and taking on all risk, with little income to start, completely on own to find new clients

Advantages of not owning your book is you’ll likely get a salary or support which can be appealing to someone that’s just starting. No other possible advantages.

It's either you take low risk get paid and have a marketing budget but own nothing or you take all the risks and own everything including your expenses.

At a similar crossroad in the bank channel, 3 years in. I see the advantages of owning your book and practice Relatively small book right now, $25mil $10mil managed. Leave now? Grow the book and hope clients come with me? What does the transition look like

I opened up right across the street from the bank branch I was in. Advertised heavily and 90% of my clients followed but not all year day one. A surprising number waited to see if I was going to make it or until they needed something.
