He wasn’t perfect but he’s better then anyone from the sharif family who are openly crooks and corrupt
Indian here and I only wish stability for Pakistan. Economic stability is important in moving forward with peace in the region. All countries in the area are victims of colonialism and 70+ years of independence is barely enough to overcome poverty, which is why moving forward is important for all the peoples despite our governments efforts.
The problem is- that religion-based countries can never focus only on development. Their focus remains on religion. That's been a central problem with Pakistan.
Just an FYI I am from India, but always wished for stability in Pakistan. Agree with SM1 IK is not corrupt and Sharif family is not Shareef at all, the older brother looted the country and now it’s younger ones turn, Shahbaaz Badmash family 😜
Just like any individual prosperity (wealth, health,happiness) depends on your relations with near and dear having stable and prosperous countries who takes care of their citizens well being is good for nations around it.
I still remember a dialogue from Bakra Kiston Pe (stage drama by Umar Sharif) which translates to India and Pakistan both keep on spending money on making bombs where as poor people are dying of hunger (this is a 35 year old dialogue) finally bomb tho ban jayenge lekin marne wala koi nahi hoga ( bombs will be ready but you won’t have people to do’s as they already died of hunger).
Half is south east Asia is like this. Sri Lanka is suffering from nepotism. India is too but the private firms are keeping india afloat

RC1- IK has also been using religion and populist agenda. Pak has experienced continuous negative GDP growth under his government. Karachi stock market has also not reached the 2018 level yet. His foreign policy has been very rigid. Other than a ‘non-corrupt’ image, what’s his achievement?

He may be all that, but the Sharif family remains politically and electorally very viable because of their hold on Punjab province. I wish Imran didn’t try to avoid the no confidence (Constitution mandates) at all costs (and make up US interference as a red herring) before seeking new election, than appear like running from certain Parliament defeat

I don’t think it matters who is PM. It’s the army that runs the country. I hope modern education becomes core national agenda.
