Parental leave policies - why do your employers offer?? And how long do you have to be working at the company to be eligible?

Hey everyone. I am not an ADHD consultant, but mom to a 6 year old who is very likely ADHD (we will be starting the diagnosis process soon). I wanted to hear from anyone who was also diagnosed as a young kid on any advice you have for me? Knowing what you do now, would you recommend meds for a 6 year old (if it comes to that)? What other solutions/therapies can I use with my kid? Please, any advice is welcome!
