Look, I get it but it is really hard ending a relationship after being together for so long. You become so connected and intertwined, it is really hard to split up. Be sympathetic. It’s not a fun thing to go through. I would never wish this on anyone. Plus look at the positives - you don’t have to worry about two sets of holidays ;)
When my parents decided to get divorced after 50+ years of marriage the first thing I said to them was “both of you are old coots who won’t change and can be somewhat unlikable and definite pains in the ass. are you sure you want to do this? The only people I know who could tolerate you for any length of time are each other”. I caught hell but I was right. There is nothing more unsettling then senior citizens who decide they want to get their swerve on but don’t have good sense or good manners and leave a wake of chaos and distraction in their paths more importantly they’re still not divorced and it’s been about six years I refuse to partake in their shenanigans

It could be a good time to bond and support each other.
😭😭😭😭😭
Update: the divorce is back on 🙄 ...shocker
