Hello HCLites,
Yesterday I received a mail from my HR partner regarding talent development plan.
Actually it is a table where they are asking to fill our last rating, career plan, onsite opportunity, RM connection, salary concerns, etc.
Do you have any idea why it is collected?
Thanks in advance for your time!!
I use fidelity and path to college ( State of GA 529). I use the State of GA one because I am able to send out requests to my ex husband ( his dad) when it’s our son bday or to his grand parents or to his uncles or aunts. I basically send them emails like it was our son talking to them:
Dear Glamma and Papa, it’s my birthday in two weeks and I don’t want toys, I rather you invest in my future by contributing to the 529 account that mommy set up for me. I love you both so so much muaaaaah.
Lol that’s how my son talks in reality so I try to make it relevant . I don’t accept regular toys for my son’s bday. I accept educational games, 529 contributions. Keep in mind his birthday parties are private, just family and very very close Friends. He is just 4 so no huge friends yet. It may change once he is older. For now, each birthday we collected at least $3k with Grams and daddy giving more than 70% of it.
529 plan
529 plan for sure. I use vanguard's for the low fees.
My 3.5 year old hit the lottery being born in 2015 😂. His 529 is going gangbusters in this market. Get as much in as you can as early as you can and then later on you can turn off the spigot and hopefully reap the compound gains.
Awesome. Thank you both for your responses. I was just reading about the 529 plan and since we're free to choose any state plan, I thought I should ask for your input on this. What do you think the best state plan is?! I live in CA and was reading that NY's plan is the best. Any thoughts?
Thanks for your help!
It’s important to look at the state tax benefits based on where you live. I know Vanguard has an online tool that helps you figure out the best options after answering a couple of basic questions.
