I think a lot depends on the reviewer. Some people are just hard to impress. I generally won't give a "partial at level" unless there is an issue I've addressed more than once that hasn't been corrected. But I'm a pretty nice guy. It's worth having a conversation with your reviewer to understand why. But also, don't sweat. A lot more than 1 Snapshot goes into YE decisions.
It's interesting because the skills that you have as an MBA with previous industry work experience are not necessarily the skills that are valuable as a new senior (PowerPoint text box aligning, etc.) New seniors aren't pulled in to make strong contributions to storyboarding and problem solving (which are the skills that the firm interviews for)
I would figure out how you get to level. You are obviously missing something if you it from three different people
If you don't agree ignore it- I only have 5 snapshots and I think 2 of my reviewers were petty as hell so I won't acknowledge
@PwC 3 have you experienced positive feedback in person and then dinged snapshots? That's what I'm seeing. Idk what the expectations of raters are, but wondering if raters are pressured to give constructive feedback in snapshots.
@p5, it doesn't matter if you don't acknowledge. Partners/HR will still see them for CRT, purely for that reason (people not acknowledging because they don't agree)
👆🏼I think that's fair. I feel the same. "At level" already implies room to grow. Unless there were some issues along the way that didn't really get resolved
How many snapshots have you received "partially at level" for?
Three snapshots with partially for the same area. 2 from the same team.
There are some skills that MBA seniors are expected to have coming in (hence the higher salary) and I don't think it's good to be below level as an MBA senior on more than one snapshot. But, you should talk to your coach and RP.
OP, if you are getting dinged on snapshots for failure to align PowerPoint objects, that implies you continuously fail to act on feedback given. It's unlikely that your snapshots (plural) are the first time you received feedback on attention to detail. And, being a senior associate post-MBA, the most important skills are technical expertise in your subject matter, relationships and leadership.
I've never received anything below "at level". I would talk to your coach. They should speak directly to your reviewers to email understand the discrepancies in verbal and formal feedback.
