Expensing meals when working from home is literally the most entitled thing I’ve ever heard of.

A5, what you believe employees are entitled to is matter of fact false. Therefore, you have a false sense of entitlement. There’s no way around it.
Not drinking any koolaid, just stating facts.
Unfortunately, companies are entitled to fire you for any reason that doesn’t violate a law. That’s too bad for us. That’s an accurate sense of entitlement though, not a false one, like feeling entitled to expense meals while working from home.
As an aside, I think there are worthier causes for you to fight for than being able to expense meals while making a 6 figure salary. You can buy your own food like everyone else. Maybe channel that energy about getting free meals for people who actually need them rather than spoiled consultants making 6 figure salaries who have a false sense of entitlement?
Let’s be honest here, all the folks who say they are literally so busy they don’t have 30 min to eat are just folks with bad time management. There are countless studies that show nobody does effective work for 5+ hours without a break. Those who claim they are, are just going through the motions.
Bottom line is - set boundaries yourself. Force yourself to take a 30-45 min break midday to have lunch. Block it on your calendar. If you have meetings all day, go off video for one you’re not presenting in and prepare meal during. If you’re even more busy, take 2-3 hours on Sunday evening to meal prep for the week

I’m on my F#%cking lunch break!!!

You could just make your lunch the night before, then eat while you’re working, which is pretty common.
Also, you can take plenty of breaks without calling them lunch breaks, putting them on your calendar, and saying “no other meeting is allowed at X time, that’s my lunch break.”
Block out your lunch time

OP, let’s be real here. Clearly you have some time, most days, especially at night, to prepare a meal for the next day. The idea that you work nonstop 16 hours a day, and your partner is aware of what you’re doing every waking moment, is quite silly.
It sounds like you like the idea of having a block set aside, and the partner is saying no half hour block at 12pm or whatever time. You should probably try to pretend you’re not working at home, and like a normal workday, you’re not meant to be cooking up a whole meal during the workday, every single day.
If you have time on some days though, then feel free without blocking out the time on your calendar. No one will know or care.
Here is my lunch prep routine on super busy days:
- Salad is a baby leaf mix with some basic veggies and a light homemade Italian dressing so it takes 20sec to dump in a bowl and mix
- Sandwich : I got quality breads from local bakery, quality spreads, and good Italian sausages and cheeses. So it takes 3 minutes to assemble.
- I also make soup for a week so it's just 40 sec in the microwave to warm up.
- total cost is about ~$10-12 but it's because I'm buying top shelf ingredients.
Obviously the eating part takes place on a call where I'm mostly passive and on mute.
Now, the real problem it that your Parter doesn't understand that 30 minutes break in the middle of the day is essential not only for your well-being but also for your productivity
