COB should be 5 pm, but I’ll usually send a COB deadline around 7-8 pm

Been there.

COB to me means between 5 and 7pm. EOD means before 6am.

Agree. COB and EOD are two different times.

5:00? But just clarify, better to be sure. We can’t read the partners mind.

Business doesn’t close during remote work… or at least no one’s told that to the clients making requests at 10:30pm

But in any case, I say send before 8 pm

COB is a term of art that means 5. It is untied from any actual close of business.

Don’t be a jerk - you know what it means.

I feel like 6:30 is probably the deadline. 5 to be safe but would feel bad as long as it’s before 7.

Wouldn’t feel bad**

Can we use my parents pan card for HRA exception, we (self Or parents) don't have any properties on our names, living in a rented house but the owners stay in US. So owners can't give pan card.

Hello Fishes,

Any idea when we get relieving letter/service certificate from TCS?

My LWD was 16th September and I received FNF on 26th September. Also got initial release letter on my LWD.

I see so many issues in this organisation.
When I joined TCS after 5 days of joining they used to mail me every week for 5 continuous weeks and asked me every time for previous organisation relieving letter.
But they themselves don’t share it and delay a lot.

Anyone please advise.

I’m looking to take some certificate classes. Can anyone point me in the right direction for affordable online classes?

Anyone who recently got an offer from MS, can you please advise how long the interview process is?

I read in Glassdoor that some recent offers took 1-2 months to roll out. Is that common?

For me it has been 3 weeks since my third (final) hiring manager round hence wanted to know if others had similar experience.

Thank you!

Being Mobile Developer some time I feel I'm too away from that lime light where people talk about how they handle that much of traffic, what happen when someone push wrong commit in production, How they designe that high scalable system.

Just to understand I had learn writing APIs, had written some chatbots(Alexa, Google Home)

I know how system works in the backend or network but never have been involved that much.

Additional Posts in Law

Hey all, long story short, a delivery company significantly damaged some of my property (as in my house) when delivering a package. I’m going to small claims court on Friday. Have any of you had experience in small claims court? Any major or significant differences from small claims and other courts? Any tips are appreciated.

Anyone know of any law firms looking for a healthcare reg associate? I have been networking since I graduated this year and the people I talked to have been great but the firms I talked to don’t have enough work for me to hire. I have a healthcare background and in Atlanta (open to remote work). Thanks in advance if you know of something!

Anyone work at or have insight to the culture at Dykema? Experience working with Len Wolfe (chair) would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.

Any Russian oligarchs out there? Just wanted to check in and make sure you’re all doing alright, ya know, with all of your dirty money going up in smoke.

What strategy does a suggest to apply to investors or when investing?

Dollar-cost averaging is one of the easiest techniques to boost your returns without taking on extra risk, and it’s a great way to practice buy-and-hold investing. Dollar-cost averaging is even better for people who want to set up their investments and deal with them infrequently. It’s one of the most powerful and easy investment strategies and it’s great for individual investors.

Is it legal to dock pay, bonuses and/or origination payouts if billable time isn’t entered on time? Firm is threatening a 3 strike rule. Just seems off if you work for the money (it’s calculated based on rates/hours/business brought in) that they could threaten you this way. Firing? I understand that. I’m in Pennsylvania if that makes a difference.

Anyone practice cannabis law or in a related area in Illinois? I’m located in Chicago and have been considering this area but have some questions about getting started. I’d also be open to hearing from attorneys outside Illinois!

Looking at the older generation here: has law always been this PC? Feels like everyone is so fake for fear of offending/showing any personality etc. When I hear stories from the old days, doesnt sound like it was always this way. Please advise.

I graduated from law school in 2007, went to big law and was laid off in 2009 due to the Great Recession. I went back to school and got my LLM in tax, after a stint at big 4, I got back into big law but was asked to start over as a first year. Years later, close to partnership and being mentored in that direction, I lost my job due to something completely out of my control that I can’t get into. I always wanted to make partner, but I’m struggling at my new firm with not enough work (p. 1)

What are some red flags for recruiters? Recently had recruiter reach out for a lit position. job description was overly vague per usual. I asked about salary, benefits, bonus, and who the firm was. Recruiter told me that they would not provide the name of firm until firm screened my resume and decided if they were interested in me. Given majority of lit is pretty much the same, I’m more interested in the firm name and reputation before I allow them to review my materials. Is this a 🚩🚩🚩?

Taking an informal poll: Anyone here have trouble interviewing?

Is two weeks’ notice advised for law firms (note I am not asking if it’s standard)?

How do those of you that consistently bill 180+ hours a month stay motivated to be productive at that pace? I’ll have 1-3 50-60 billable hour weeks and then I will crash and have a week where I’m exhausted and unmotivated to bill more than 30 hours.
