Partners - I’m a senior associate and I was helping with a proposal last year. I recommended adding a success fee to the sow and we made an additional 500k on it. How can I request a commission?

Use your new shark lasers. Works for me every time.

likefunny

I would give you commission if you combined your lasers with sharks. Is that so much to ask. I want sharks with friggin’ lasers on their heads.

likefunny

I think it depends on how many sharks you were able to outfit with the lasers

Commison? As a senior associate? Hahahahahhaha

On your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness. So you got that goin' for you, which is nice.

Not even partners at a big 4. Smaller firms do give out commission.

Sharks with lasers attached ? One hundred billion dollar commission

You didn’t sell it. You made a good suggestion. Feather in your cap, but not commission worthy.

like

And OP: I’d like to acquire some shark lasers if there are any left

I love how recommending a success fee is somehow worth a commission - sounds like you did not deliver any of it or contribute to the project success in any way, so expect nothing. I recommend 75% GM and success fees on all projects....

Seems like you don’t understand your role on the team. You are supposed to come up with some good ideas to sell the work and make more money. Your comp is your salary and bonus. There is no “commission” .. you need an attitude adjustment at a minimum and a job change most likely. The role of staff is to help in everything we do. Delivery, sales, operations. How do you not get that as a senior? Are you new?

like

Ha doubt you'll get more than a better bonus and a stronger position during the next promotion cycle

like

Easy George. The best you’ll get is a pat on the back and a maybe a couple extra bucks on your bonus if they remember

OP - be honest now, was the question just a ploy to drive mad traffic to your site selling sweet sharklazers??
