I work at a new, small firm. We get 10 days of PTO. For family/medical leave, we get 20 days paid and then 20 days unpaid. But policy says we have to take our PTO concurrently with paid family/medical leave. That’s weird, right? It’s like you end up losing paid leave days. It makes sense to do it concurrently with unpaid leave but not paid leave, right?

I’m a mid-level female associate at an Amlaw50 firm. I usually work with 1st or 2nd years. Hi all, I’m currently a year into a role at a top tier firm. Team and WLB are great but growth prospects are unclear and not a sector of long term interest. My manager hasn’t been able to articulate his medium term vision and how my role fits into that and doesn’t seem concerned that I’m overqualified for the support nature of my role. I’m making it to offer stages for other roles offering me over 30% more than I currently earn and with very strong prospects. Am I being to hasty in wanting out?

Part of a large firm which is fairly hierarchical and am fairly junior in tenure. Feel like I don’t actually like any of my “superiors” and most of them have a very divergent views of what life is (given how much they want to work and how often they prioritize work).
