There were certainly times early on (M- level) that I questioned if I had the resilience to make this work; identified during a period dealing with particularly tough clients. It was a confidence gap that I worked on with a business coach. I actively loved the work throughout though; wouldn’t have stuck with it if that had materially faltered.

When I was a manager I took a leave of absence to see whether spending more time with my wife and not traveling would be better for me long term. Ended up coming back to consulting and being really happy about making the push to partner once I realized how fun the work and people were and how boring other jobs and companies can be.

Hey all, I’ve recently joined EY consulting from another Big 4 and have noticed there’s no discipline (at least in my team) around codes and charging time. People either charge a standard 7 hrs or some will charge time spent on internal activities to their client code. I was told that “the last person to charge their actual hours worked was promptly booted off the project”. Just wondering: 1) Is this a general cultural point accross all Consulting teams? Will challengin this get me in trouble?

Hi guys, I switched 20 days back to Optum. I have 7 years of experience working as a full stack Engineer, who is passionate working on both front end and back end on latest technologies. But my project is working only on back end with 10 years old tech stack. There is no front end work at all. What should I do? I don't like working here at all, but I am not sure whether moving out again in a month will give bad Impression on my resume. Hence please give me advice on this situation

Recent career-switcher here. While I’m a veteran with the ad process, I am new to the UX agile process. Is it normal to not use briefs whatsoever? Is it normal for the UX research lead to have a stakeholder workshop (sans designers) to think of concept “thought starters,” then have a separate meeting with the UX design lead to vote on which 1 of 3 concepts to proceed with? In advertising, this is analogous to the client and researchers doing the campaign idea then telling the CD to execute it.

No. Fam or same household only is how it used to be.

Just downloaded this app and notice a lot of consultants making significantly over 100k. I’m mid 30s, just got my MBA a year ago and started a new job and still not over that six figure mark. Feeling a little behind in life- reading many 30 year olds are making 100k+. I have extensive experience in healthcare (pharmaceutical) in Tableau and SQL. What jobs or companies pay over six figures for Business Intelligence roles? Or should I be seeking different types of roles to make over 100k?

Deloitte Strategy 🐠 Can someone explain how the services under commercial consulting are broken down, specifically strategy? How is Monitor Deloitte a service? How does the M&A services under S&A differ from the M&A/Restructuring services under Financial Advisory? Is the strategic growth and transformation strat/design team considered Monitor or is all of S&A considered Monitor? I thought the Monitor name wasn’t being used by Deloitte anymore so I’m a little confused.
