Advice needed! I am currently in a toxic work environment making $60k (commission structure is okay, no 401k match, in office 4 days/week and 10 days PTO), I am in the final rounds for a role at an awesome company with great culture and upward mobility, but the pay is $55k (equity, uncapped commission, remote, and unlimited PTO). I think I would love the role, and I’m sure the total comp with equity and commission would be very similar to my current role, but I am still hung up the lower salary

Roth 401k or traditional 401k?

Are 401k’s really worth investing in these days? What are the % returns you guys have been seeing for the last few years? For those that have been working before 2008, how much of an impact did the housing crash have on 401k and how much did the recent COVID pandemic affect it?

I don’t want to be a teacher anymore. The only thing that pulls me back is the kids, but I spend my time crying and have developed issues mentally and physically from stress. I worked hard for my teaching degree. But I just feel like I can’t do this anymore. What should I do? What would you do?

For folks who moved from US to Canada how did you deal with financial assets when moving from US to Canada? I eventually want to return to US. I have a 401k/Roth IRA/HSA/Brokerage Account/Savings Account/Checking Account. I don't want to bring all my finances to Canada. I'm a foreign national in the US. Ideally I want to have a setup where I can draw from my funds in US to CA on a need basis. But how do you make sure not paying extra when dealing with currency exchange?

FYI - you should still get 401k match from your old company if you leave in first few months of new year. Heard differently on this app, but left B4 in Jan and still got employer match in Feb for 2019
