Partners - when you see someone on your project that has been with the firm a long time and is basically a career consultant how do you view that?

I view it at a team member with good experience who has, for whatever reason, decided not to go up the chain. We are not as up or out as MBB, but still, to hang in there for a while while you’re getting passed takes grit, and I respect the grit.

It takes different strokes to move the world and we can’t all be partners, or who would do actual work?

Why would I think anything? There’s nothing wrong with being a professional Manager, or Senior Manager, in fact its good to have them if they’re still engaged. t what point might it be an issue?

like

$$$

It depends on many factors: does person have expertise, why did they not get promoted more, etc

It can be good as long as they’re not complacent. If it’s a proactive choice (ability, ambition, family focus) then fine. Around half are this bit half I’m my experience are maxed out and can’t go higher and are obstinate and not up to date skills wise.

I’m ok with it

How do you keep up with your non-billable tasks, while still hitting your hours? I delegate as much of these tasks as I can, but they still take up a good portion of my day. For reference, I spent about five hours today preparing a customized report for a client (although these reports are time-consuming, we never bill for them). I also had a 30 minute call with a partner related to business development. How am I supposed to get any actual work done? Any tips or tricks that work for you?

Career advice please. I'm in my 20's work for a company that just went public, I'll receive a few thousand in shares for my time there. I have good pto and insurance is paid for. There is room for growth, so no real stall in my career. However I have a job offer for a contract with a crypto company for double what I make. It's a year contract and I use the company's product on my own time all the time. I am also heavily invested in the crypto space, philosophically monetarily, and time wise.
