It's rude when people act like passing these exams should be extremely easy, and like anyone who doesn't use Becker and get perfect scores immediately is lesser than them or dumb. Everything from mental health to difficult life circumstances makes the exams harder for some. If you passed immediately just be grateful and accept that others may have limitations that you don't. Full disclosure, I have passed all exams with a few failures mixed in.
You want a medal?
Congrats, but sounds like you studied too hard lol
Okay ! If my words ever offend anyone, I am sorry. But I only mean to express my excitement and let people know that studying Becker can be enough to pass the exam. Cause i was wondering about that before I took the test.
@manager 1 maybe so, but I've seen some belittling comments on fishbowl lately and wondering what the point is. That's great for OP that they've passed with high scores using Becker, but others in this thread say "others should be more like you" and I think that is not a good attitude.
Ok, me too. Now what?
@TA1 OP made no comments as to others who didn't pass. I think you're maybe using some tough experiences from your personal life to extrapolate on to OP. All OP did was express excitement that they passed. They did not pass any judgement on those who have not passed.
Tax accountant 1 - yea I have seen a lot of belittling comments on threads and it makes me wonder if all people in PA are like this? I just don't know anymore. I agree we should all be kind to each other.
I spent about 1-2 months for each part, just study 4 hours a day after work
Only if more people on FishBowl were dedicated like this
Never underestimate the power of highlighting. And underlining.
Congrats! I'm working on it and I know you deserve your praise! Hard work pays off! Great job!
@EY 2: I studied two rounds for each exam. One will be skim through the Becker lecture and textbook and take some notes, did MCQs. Second round study is more serious. I make sure I really understand the concept, not just memorize things. I read through my notes from round 1 and add on more things. When I feel comfortable, I will redo wrong MCQs from round 1 and do SIMs. I feel like it's more beneficial to do SIM when you actually understand the materials.
If you got all >90, I heard you will have additional bonus?
@OP if you're awards EWS then you'll get like $20K from the firm.
@OP definitely not knocking your achievement, by the way, good on you. For me personally, I wanted Becker to work but it wasn't for some reason. I think a lot of people have trouble with Becker and they can also know trying other methods is an option! It is unfortunate since a lot of the firms pay for Becker, so it is great to use Becker if you can, and find a way to make it work for you.
I didn't even want to post a thread. Stupid fishbowl ( or me ) makes me think that I just post a comment. Sorry all !
@OP, what did you find to be most helpful in passing the exam on first try and with such impressive scores. I am in the process of preparing to take it so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
