Passed my CPA, but don’t really want to stay a couple months and wait for the application to go through. If I get a new job outside of PA can I just have my new manager sign the application form?

I have heard stories that PwC taking forever or ignoring to sign the form. Have them sign it before you go to play safe. I got mine a week before I left.

I would make sure the new company will pay for the license too. You can always get people at pwc to sign it even after you leave

I would say even after you leave, big four has its own team to help fill out the application form for you.

You get the form signed then you send it in. You don’t have to “wait around” while it gets approved, you can quit the day after you get it signed or even before as mentioned above but it’s a bigger hassle once you’ve already quit

Are these 2 totally separate principles or why would that concept not come into play? Or is needing consent from the dead not a federal thing

Hi tax 🐠,

I have a question for those who prep individual tax returns. My parents claim my grandfather as a dependent on their tax return and due to their low income, receive PTC for the premiums they pay on his insurance (not eligible for medicare). However, would it be advantageous to have him file for his own tax return (he stays with my parents and doesn't have his own proof of residency via bills). If so, can he get PTC if his income is 0?

Do you record your unbillable time? I have had conflicting responses. I have been told it's not good for efficiency calculations but others have told me if your still doing work let people know. I have been told not to bill for this but if I didn't have to spend time to do such things my billable hours would be higher
