Network, network, network. You should have started yesterday. Muscle your way into meeting the right people.
Always be positive. No one will hire you if you project negativity. No matter how discouraged you may feel, you’ve got to flip the happy switch when you’re meeting people / interviewing / networking. That includes never badmouthing your current or former employer.
1. Always invest in growing your skills
2. Be confident in your value, worth and what you deliver
3. Use that as your ammo to establish firm boundaries right from the get go so you don’t get “owned” as a corporate asset.
Always negotiate your job offer. Even if it's more than what you thought you'd get. Worst you can get is a NO! Best case you're setting yourself up for future salary raises.
Keep applying for jobs even when you have a nice one so that you know if there is a better value for you out there.
