It’s okay to say no to that Director or Partner who is unreasonable.
It’s okay to say no to reasonable ones too
Stay healthy and love your friends and family. At the end of the day, it’ll mean more to you than that proposal that is “high visibility and a great step up opportunity”
Never be afraid of making life changing decisions.

Max out your retirement. I did not save enough in my early years. Don’t be afraid to jump jobs and does not always have to be about money. I jumped from one big 4 to another for a lateral pay and made partner at my new firm within 5 years and stayed over twenty.
Don’t take life too seriously.
Your TC is irrelevant to everyone but your ego. Your per hour rate is all that matters.
Consulting is not a means to an end for most... don't sacrifice everything
Make a retirement plan
Be nice, work hard and ask for help. Be open about what you want and help might come from very unexpected sources.
Also, sleep well, exercise and prioritize what’s important for you
Keep in mind that what we do isn’t brain surgery. If you mess something up, you don’t have to go tell someone their mother/father/husband/wife/daughter/son died die to your mistake. Take a deep breath, fix what you can, accept the consequences for what you can’t, and learn from it so it’s less likely to happen to you and your team again
