PCAOB has a noble mission but I’m curious - how much are its inspections contributing to mental health problems and avoidable voluntary attrition in CPA firms? Serious question. Not trying to troll them.

The PCAOB is needed to keep bad actors in-line. That said they should set a standard and stop moving the bar. It seems every year they are coming up with a new area where they are moving the field goal on everyone, change what is expected from audits. That’s my twice cents probably worth half that.

OK, fraud and error

I guess they’re more concerned about the mental health of all the hedge fund managers that lose money when companies commit fraud.

I’ve worked in mental health for 10 years now, and make around 76k as a clinical research coordinator. I left research in 2019 to work as a psychotherapist, but came back last year just to recover from Covid burnout.
I’m trying to decide what my next move is. I want to make closer to 100k, but don’t know how. I’m considering either private practice therapy or a hospital therapist job. Any tips in either direction would be awesome.

I’ve been thinking of making a switch from audit to TAS. I’m currently a S1 (2 busy seasons experience), and rated as a top performer at my firm. I’m contacted by Kroll, but recruiters there told me that since I haven’t got any TAS experience, I should be applying for their Analyst role instead of Senior Associate. Honestly, I want to switch to TAS but not that desperate to leave my firm. Anyway, I just wonder if you guys have the same situation and usually how long it takes to get promoted?
