Hope everyone is having a great day. I'm looking for a new opportunity either within PwC or another consulting firm. I have 2 years of risk consulting experience and my main focus has been financial crimes but am open to other fields as well. I've been at the AC in Columbia, however there does not seem to be room for growth and my skills are not being used as well as they should be. Any referrals would be incredibly helpful.

😭😭 when you ponder why you got into audit after working from 7 am to 10 pm on a Sunday. If we needed to work this much, wouldn’t it be better to go into investment banking, where they pay is better?

Let’s talk about how Salesforce put me through 6 rounds of interviews spanning 6.5 weeks with a panel presentation, last being final VP round and hiring manager constantly viewing my LinkedIn & adding me , to just got a generic automated email from recruiter about how they are not moving on with my candidacy. I am a Product Owner with 6 yoe and a mother of newly born. My current package is 12lpa and average 11-12 hrs working with work from office for 7-8 hrs, remaining calls/work from home. In such scenario taking care of the baby has become very challenging.
I have been considering job switch for a while but have lots of doubt in my mind. Will a new mother be hired? Working 12 hrs will only ensure good package? If i insist on work life balance, will it affect the package? Thoughts plz

I accepted an offer to join a national firm after graduating this summer. The pay is decent, and I am relatively happy so far (it’s only been a month since I joined). Today I received an email from a bigger, more prestigious firm I applied to months ago. They’re asking if I am still looking for an Associate role. I would like to interview with them to see what they have to offer. Would that be considered ‘disloyal’ towards my current firm that I just joined a month ago?

What happens to average associates who do good enough work but don’t care about partnership? Do we eventually get pushed out?

Had an interview last week. Recruiter (who is a recruiter for the firm itself as I applied directly) emailed me today asking how I thought the interviews went. Does this mean anything? Wouldn’t a recruiter only reach out to schedule another round of interviews or to reject you? Haven’t heard back since replying this morning.

M&A associates- tips on handling an always overflowing inbox? Seems like 80 new emails will pop up within a matter of like 2 hours so the 60 I was able to clear while not on calls mean nothing now. I’m getting 150-250 a day and over half are actual emails I’m expected to respond to / requests I need to deliver on. All tips welcome on organization and managing anxiety. Separately, how many deals are you usually on at a time? I’m in tech which moves pretty quickly. Thx

Explain to me like I’m 5. Why does the monthly billable hours goal on things like Intellistat change month to month. I’m not hitting hours this year. Last month goal was 158. This months goal is 180.

Am I just aware of it now or is there an exodus of DOJ prosecutors lately (going into private practice)?

Is anyone else out there really struggling with typos, section references, or things like that? I’m doing everything one is supposed to do (print out, read loud, triple checking, etc.) but still can’t get everything right. It is a real burden to my team when we try to post in the data room or send to counter parties. I’m a third year, and I know those mistakes shouldn’t happen with my YOE but god I wish I could stop them!

When should I start to get worried that corporate is so slow? Have only billed 230 hours for the year so far and it doesn’t seem like things are picking up soon so getting nervous since my firm has a billable hours minimum requirement.

Mid 2020, I turned down an opportunity to jump ship from my small law firm to a big law firm. At the time I had 4 years of practice under my belt with managerial experience. I thought the offer was reasonable, come in at a 2nd year level, but with the uncertainty of the times I played it safe. Now I regret it. What avenues do I have, if any, to jump into big law from a small firm?
