People always talk about how shitty PMO, change management, etc. projects are. What do people consider the interesting/good projects? Obviously strategy but what else? (Serious question).

You know what's just as shitty? Being intermittently on the beach and selling yourself while shuffling around through short term projects where you're the 'add on'/overflow bandaid.

I love change management projects :/

like

Projects where you actually have to think and get to create something. Customer work is really appealing. Maybe also supply chain or finance

I'm fairly new to consulting...when projects in Iris for example say "process driven change" - is that change management? What about "enterprise transformation"? I feel like it's so hard sometimes to figure out exactly what a project entails

I really enjoy process optimization and operating model re design

I'm currently working in the sports/entertainment industry so any project relating to that is quite interesting 👍🏼

I read a contract from San Diego that had some very interesting language for Special Educators. Thinking about sending it to the Union to see.

Always been a fan of FIRE and reading about it has definitely helped my finances but I can’t help but wonder if the movement is more about lifestyle change than early retirement.

After you achieve FI,you basically have to maintain the lifestyle that got you there.

What if you want to go on a lavish vacation or buy that flatscreen TV? Are you supposed to do away with material goods entirely? I suppose you could keep working for discretionary $ and live off interest but then you’re not retired.

How To Be Productive when Your Job Is Boring

I’m losing my damn mind at my job. I’m 23 years old and I’m a very ambitious, hard working individual but my job is literally so boring, I feel that all of my habits and skills are slowly deteriorating. I mean I do nothing all day, most days.

Im tired all the time, I can’t think of anything to do. I try to watch educational videos/pods, but there’s only so much. Any advice on how to fill in the time in a productive and entertaining manner?

Job opportunity (mgr title, 4-6 yr exp needed) in Internal Audit (w/ data analytics exposure) at one of the largest private companies in Chicago. I interviewed with them (director and vp) till last round and decided to pursue a different opportunity. Great and caring people who seems to support what you wanna do at this position. Since it’s private there is a lot of room to create and build from the best practice. lmk if you are interested or know someone needs help. Thanks!

I’m really happy being gf&bf with my significant other - I’m 41 and I don’t want kids and I am not desperately seeking marriage. I’m really happy with just this & my job. I think it weirds his immigrant family out a lot. His mother apparently was very cold/rude to his ex-gf (I found this out bc I asked) and his sister is very cold and has a very judgmental attitude about women that don’t wanna be a wife & have kids (just like her.) I wanna avoid holidays at their place - any advice?
