I agree 100% with everything you say but at the time same time it’s hard to read this and not think “this person sounds like he/she would be miserable to work with”.

Agreed.
What was the point in this post? For you to complain about people who are complaining?
Chief
You post this here because no one lets you speak during team meetings?
Thanks Julie, this really softens the layoff blow
I'm ready to run through a brick wall on Monday morning now, thanks

Hardooo 🚨
@OP please bookmark this post to motivate you when Accenture lays you off
I can't argue with what you're saying OP from a legal standpoint, but it's not as cut and dry pragmatically. As someone who is growing a team and a client base, it's important to remember the at will nature of the relationship goes both ways. If you take the stance that the employer owes nothing to the employee, then it's also true that the employee owes nothing to the employer. Such a hardline stance on the relationship between the employer and the employee is what's stated on the legal documents, but it's not beneficial for either side in the long run. If the employee doesn't feel taken care of, then they won't be motivated to perform their best. You're then left with a toxic work culture, unstable workforce (this makes planning for the future extremely difficult), inefficiencies due to high turnover, inflated payroll costs because that's the only way people stay or join the company (everyone checks Glassdoor).
You can't grow your client base without growing your team and with the liquidity of the modern job market, a good teammate can leave at the drop of a hat if they aren't treated right.
Out of curiosity, how many people do you manage and how much revenue are you respnsible for?
You left out the part where the people you fire today are tomorrow's clients. It doesn't take much to derail a proposal. "I used to work at XYZ firm and don't hold them in high regard in this space", is often enough to lose a pitch.
Consulting firms have a vested interest in soft landings.
Sir this is a Wendy’s
OP is everything okay at home?
Welcome to Accenture. This is what you get as a work culture behind the white washed messages that the marketing department tells you and family values they try to convince you they have...

correction....welcome to corporate America
Why am I not surprised that someone at Accenture posted this...
Yes technically you’re right. @everyone at Acn take notes. The firm doesn’t owe you anything and you don’t owe them anything beyond the contract. Take all your PTO. Don’t respond to emails during PTO, no matter how urgent. @analysts make sure you’re getting all that OT that you were promised on the contract. Don’t ever do a minute of work without a code, as you’re legally obligated to submit your time sheets honestly. Once you leave to industry, you don’t owe Accenture anything - don’t hire them.
I'd just like to point out that this is also a two-way street. You don't have to give two weeks notice.

People are soft nowadays for being unhappy when they lose their jobs? Being unemployed sucks no matter who you are and it’s especially rough when the government has forced the job market to stagnate even worse than it did back during the 2008 crash.
There are plenty of reasons to complain about people being too soft today, but complaining about being unemployed is not one of them.
u sound damaged...hope u feel better soon :)
And then people wonder “well why there is the no employee loyalty anymore?”...
Thanks OP for the intellectually stimulating awful rationale thought

People are ignorant nowadays and don’t understand that the fine print isn’t the end all be all. Remember there are protected classes, etc. Additionally, this is why firms often give severance, to get people to sign NDAs. Things aren’t as simple as the way you describe, and it’s not so cut and dry.
Additionally, you sound like the type of person who’d say this then go insane if you ever got suddenly fired.
OP when you,
1) fall sick because of a food allergy, be ok as you knew food could go bad when you put that in your mouth
2) when you have side effects due to a cosmetic or medicine or something take a chill pill because you knew these are chemicals and have side effects
3) next time when your SO or Hubby or someone dear leaves you, just enjoy I mean no relationships come with life time warranty
4)you feel low your shrink is out and you obviously don’t have friends so don’t feel bad I mean come on this is what happens to people like you
5) finally when you retire with bad health, no friends, and no love am sure you wouldn’t be soft and enjoy your hard life with even harder heart ❤️
LOL
