Managers, generally.
Pretty standard model, OP
New MBA hires are honestly the hardest to work under. They get paid a shit ton but don't understand how consulting works or how to keep up. Sorry junior practitioner venting....
Seriously - as a post MBA - the wide range of ability of undergrads was stunning - some undergrad analysts were amazing at excel and powerpoint but most were not.
How to drive their own work efficiently and proactively. It's not realistic for someone to hold your hand through the project.
No
Nah
Who generally manages?
For us it's generally the Project Leader (the promotion after 2 years post-MBA). Same person manages the post-undergrads as the post-MBAs.
Good model ^
I dislike our model. Have a feeling we got it from Bain.
^Can you elaborate on what you mean by "keep up?"
Yeah Parthenon - no idea what your talking about. Managers manage...below that is staff. As an SA you prob have a work stream you own and maybe an associate with you. But managers manage. Maybe different at a CDD firm though? In strategy that's how it is
It's the general structure of our Corp strategy business as well (Which is about 50%) .. Can be hit or miss. Sometimes you can have a great post MBA hire who can also be a great friend and manager who understands your tasks. Other times not so much.
You sound terrible to work with.
Why so mean senior associate?
