Admission nurse and case manager is usually the same thing different companies may change the name or if they have so may SOC (start of cares) they could hire an RN to complete OASIS (Medicare Admission check list basically) only. However case managers will also provide nursing care. Dressing changes, access central line, central line dressing chgs, administer Iv meditation, stage wounds & take photos, monitor progress and communicate with pcp and other care team members for patient care. You ensure the patient has access to dme and meds, and that they are taking care of themselves. The goal of homehealth is to empower the patient and or family, but it doesn't always work out that way. For either position be prepared for paperwork (or tablet work) lots of boxes to check.

My guess would be they are trying to hire an RN for OASIS admissions for SOC only.

Well a home health nurse case manager supports the ongoing needs of a patient in their home. Managing services and possible increases or decreases of services through assessment. And you do this for multiple patients in a defined geographical location and have a caseload.

Make your own schedule, chronic disease management, TONS of unnecessary charting (thank you MCR). Best part is the autonomy. I’m PRN home health but our FT nurses work on productivity points. Great to have one on one patient care. Totally different aspect of nursing. You either love it or hate it is my experience.

Looking for current wages/salaries on home health nurses throughout the US? I’m from Indiana and possibly looking into a switch to home health. Feedback is much appreciated!

Is it irresponsible to spend $17k on a car when making $71k?
Current expenses are around $2500 per month including $900 towards retirement savings, so I’m left with around $1500 for going out to bars, eating out, and all stuff. New car would be ~$300 car payment and $150-200 in insurance monthly. Love cars and want something fun to drive around in so seems worth it to me, but don’t want to put myself in a bad place financially. Thank you all in advance, can supply more info if needed

How do you and your significant other split expenses such as rent and eating at restaurants? We are in our late 20s, not married, she works in tech and makes ~$150k while I am an Associate making ~$400k. We split our $4500 rent based on income so I pay 70% rent and I pay for all meals at restaurants (we eat out ~4 meals per week lunch or dinner). Interested in hearing how you all split these expenses and how your income splits between your partner

Within the next 18 mo I will be considered for taking over a nurse management job in the OR. This is a small rural hospital in the Midwest. I’m already currently absorbing some of the job responsibilities, especially when the current manager is OOT. I do not get compensated for the extra work done in her absence but will soon be expected to train into that roll in the months prior to her retirement. Do I ask for raise before I agree to train into that roll? What is that job worth?
