People in my agency move too fast. As a result, briefs are sprawling, hot messes of gobbledygook and ambiguity, the work built on them is obvious and glib, and formulaic “brand guidelines” are used as short cut and substitute for real design and craftsmanship.

Our creative department has to compete against our ECD and CCO on the larger TV campaigns. And, surprise, nobody has ever beaten them.
Oh how true this is.
Middle management is more concerned about jockeying for position than properly leading their teams. Seems to be a universal problem among all departments once you hit director level.
That no one stands up to client on the following: shitty timelines / meetings 3000 miles away the day after a holiday weekend / pitches that take up the whole summer / no written brief. Etc.
Open offices. I’d like to thank the beancounters for having no clue or care how an agency functions.
