People keep saying that WLB is great at Google, but I work 70-80 hours a week. Is it just my team that's overworked?

Do any of you have experience with structuring a technical challenge to where it's the same for each candidate? I've had it happen where our devs asked questions to each candidate based on their lived experience vs. a standard set of questions that revolve around what needs to be performed in a dev role.

Wanted to get some advice:

I just got a promotion from FA to SFA in our Corp Strategy/FP&A group after working there for a little less than 1 yr. Only offered a ~4% raise with the promotion going from 75k to 78k. I negotiated and now they are saying 90k is the absolute most my bosses can “try for” but that HR will most likely approve something below that. I feel this is still below market. Tempted to leave but this is already my third job in less than 4 years. Would you consider leaving?

Had a final round at BCG last Friday. After the interviews they said that the would release results today. Then I got an email today saying they will only give the results on the next Friday. Hi, I got an offer today that I want to accept bUt need advoce on non-competes. My current employer is in the Employer of Record industry and my contract with them includes a non-compete. The company I got an offer from is an Employment wrapper for DAOs and web3 companies - they provide something similar to EOR services but the client base is completely different + they dont go after the same clients as my current employer. The non-compete would not apply in this case, correct?

How do you guys feel about pets in the office? Personally they are very annoying and inconsiderate. I have a manager who brings Tinstletoe in every day and Tinstletoe (who names their dog a seasonal name?? Or wtf is that name even?) isn't even potty trained, but it's always "easy to wipe up". I have found some messes in the kitchen and have been the one to "wipe up" before. It happens maybe once a month type frequency. She's sort of a tyrant of a person in the office so no one really wants to talk to her about it, but then Tinstletoe runs the show. We have another person in the office who has a really well behaved dog, and everyone loves that one and would be "devastated" to lose her, but then we're stuck with TT because no one has the heart, or the backbone to get rid of these animals. (in the office I mean...)

Advice please! I fell into my role (3 yrs) after 20 years in high commission sales. I went from managing a customer service team to overseeing the entire company in 18 months. It's a small tech startup that has done really well. Most of my job is project management and operations. We have 6 clients with 8 brands and usually have at least 1-3 marketing projects going on for each brand at any given time. I only have an associates degree....

A recruiter asked me to be ready with pay expectations for my next interview. Do I start high or stick with something more reasonable?

AVOID AGODA AT ALL COSTS. First they only had interview times 7pm to 3am, none during working hours. Then come interview time, I wait 3+ minutes in no one shows up and then I get an automatic email saying the interview has been canceled. I also then get an auto email saying they moved on but the recruiter emails a few minutes later saying they are trying to reschedule. A waste of my time and money preparing, putting on makeup, outfit and contacts, and skipping dinner.

I’m looking to leave my job and have 2 interview processes going on at the moment. One is with a company I love with a role that would be a good challenge and double my current pay, but they have a hiring freeze at the moment with an end date this fall (supposedly). The other is a great opportunity for me to lead a team and a whole program with a little less money than the other role. Would it be bad if I join the 2nd role then leave in a few months for the 1st one if I got an offer?
