Has anyone ever been through a year or so of FDD and realized they are better suited for accounting advisory?
Any best practices on what has worked to streamline recruiting processes for devs?
2nd stage of our interview process is a technical challenge and a conceptual discussion (system design)
Do any of you have experience with structuring a technical challenge to where it's the same for each candidate? I've had it happen where our devs asked questions to each candidate based on their lived experience vs. a standard set of questions that revolve around what needs to be performed in a dev role.
DC management consultants (especially women): what’s the best professional organization you’ve joined and why?
Wanted to get some advice:
I just got a promotion from FA to SFA in our Corp Strategy/FP&A group after working there for a little less than 1 yr. Only offered a ~4% raise with the promotion going from 75k to 78k. I negotiated and now they are saying 90k is the absolute most my bosses can “try for” but that HR will most likely approve something below that. I feel this is still below market. Tempted to leave but this is already my third job in less than 4 years. Would you consider leaving?
My boyfriend is coming home from a 3 week long work trip late Friday night and I’d love to surprise him with something nice/romantic. Any ideas? Im lacking in creativity.
Had a final round at BCG last Friday. After the interviews they said that the would release results today. Then I got an email today saying they will only give the results on the next Friday. What could have happened?? I also know some people how interviewed on the same day as mine and got a rejection email today.
Looking for a favour. Does anyone have a good marketing plan template that shows revenue attribution aligned to various activities? Or advice on how you attribute pipeline gen or pipeline acceleration to various activities?
Thanks in advance!
What’s everyone take on using recruiters in general? All the ones in my LinkedIn are spammy. It’s my first job in PA and I want to get out to consulting/advisory by the EOY.
Not me, but was curious how often new staff are put on PIPs? Found out a staff on my team was put on one 3 months in and am kinda shocked.
Are there any legal concerns if I want to take a vacation to BC for a week and then extend that vacation a week and work remotely from there?

Anyone have a good financial advisor or accountant in the DC/NoVA area? We are newly married and make a substantial joint income that we need some strategic direction on (I.e, withholdings, saving for a house, etc.). Also open to insight on an advisor versus a standard accountant! Thanks
I am looking to buy my first home. Do you think I could get a 200,000$ mortgage loan for my first home? I have a 720 credit score and am in no debt. Steady job making 48 hours weekly. Getting paid 20$ and hour.
Can we take photographs inside JPMC offices?
Hey All! How long do companies usually allow you to respond to an offer or does it vary? I'm wondering if 2 weeks is average?
On another note, is it possible to accept an offer then change your mind and accept another offer few weeks down the line? Will the only negative implication be that you'll probably burn bridges with the first company?
People need to stop asking if they’re underpaid based on superficial stats. How do I know whether or not you’re good?
Black History Month
So many thoughts this year, but one question outside of the usual..... do you feel like the weight has been lifted a bit or do you feel more pressure to represent?

Hi All, I recently created my AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification exam and working towards Professional certification. Do you think I need to take AWS Developer and DevOps certification before I go for Solutions Architect Professional? Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hi, I got an offer today that I want to accept bUt need advoce on non-competes. My current employer is in the Employer of Record industry and my contract with them includes a non-compete. The company I got an offer from is an Employment wrapper for DAOs and web3 companies - they provide something similar to EOR services but the client base is completely different + they dont go after the same clients as my current employer. The non-compete would not apply in this case, correct?

I was rejected from Microsoft today after final round, I am a bit gutted but the feedback was slightly odd that my answers would have gone from good to great had I been more enthusiastic? Is this usual?
I've worked in telecom sales for over 8 years with multiple presidents clubs and excellent results but want to pivot to cloud/SaaS sales. Anyone hiring or have referrals into FAANG, Adobe, MongoDB type companies for someone with my experience? I'm happy to do a phone call with you if you'd like more information to show i'm worthy and also can DM. Thanks!
One of our most talented coworkers writes excellent code but often takes days to reply to emails. How can I ask him to improve his communication?
How do you guys feel about pets in the office? Personally they are very annoying and inconsiderate. I have a manager who brings Tinstletoe in every day and Tinstletoe (who names their dog a seasonal name?? Or wtf is that name even?) isn't even potty trained, but it's always "easy to wipe up". I have found some messes in the kitchen and have been the one to "wipe up" before. It happens maybe once a month type frequency. She's sort of a tyrant of a person in the office so no one really wants to talk to her about it, but then Tinstletoe runs the show. We have another person in the office who has a really well behaved dog, and everyone loves that one and would be "devastated" to lose her, but then we're stuck with TT because no one has the heart, or the backbone to get rid of these animals. (in the office I mean...)
Advice please! I fell into my role (3 yrs) after 20 years in high commission sales. I went from managing a customer service team to overseeing the entire company in 18 months. It's a small tech startup that has done really well. Most of my job is project management and operations. We have 6 clients with 8 brands and usually have at least 1-3 marketing projects going on for each brand at any given time. I only have an associates degree....
A recruiter asked me to be ready with pay expectations for my next interview. Do I start high or stick with something more reasonable?
AVOID AGODA AT ALL COSTS. First they only had interview times 7pm to 3am, none during working hours. Then come interview time, I wait 3+ minutes in no one shows up and then I get an automatic email saying the interview has been canceled. I also then get an auto email saying they moved on but the recruiter emails a few minutes later saying they are trying to reschedule. A waste of my time and money preparing, putting on makeup, outfit and contacts, and skipping dinner.

SWE’s: how do you think your career progression is going? Any specific goals for this year? (Of course, you don’t have to be a SWE to comment lol)
I’m looking to leave my job and have 2 interview processes going on at the moment. One is with a company I love with a role that would be a good challenge and double my current pay, but they have a hiring freeze at the moment with an end date this fall (supposedly). The other is a great opportunity for me to lead a team and a whole program with a little less money than the other role. Would it be bad if I join the 2nd role then leave in a few months for the 1st one if I got an offer?
