Agreed - I’d hold off on the move to the bay area as many companies will enable remote work. Assuming your husband’s job allows the same, you may want to pick a location that is optimal for you both. Could still be in California but you could pick a lower cost city (relatively speaking)

Some Bay Area companies (including FAANG) are starting to also think about COL adjustments, due to remote working allowances. Companies are not going to pay bay area salaries when individuals are not living in such a high COL location.

That’s a great point. I was hypothesizing that they’ll pay less for new hires but for folks already tracking to a salary they’d offset it by reduced office space, meals, gyms, and commuter benefits.

Can’t believe I’m saying this...but I need to get back to office and work with people. Working at home is making me realize how much I miss the routine of the week when I had to drive or fly to work. Basically, I’m ready to travel for work. Not the same amount as Pre-Covid, but 50% 50% balance would be nice if the industry moves to this type of consulting model. Thoughts?

Need an advice, even though I’m an HR. So, I’m unemployed at the moment and want to start looking for a new job. I negotiated my way out for several reasons 1) My boss was not comfortable doing diversity initiative insisting that all lives matter and we’re meritocracy based business 2) I was responsible for 33 countries, which was very demanding in a time of Covid, as I had to be on most crisis committees directly or as as oversight, and at the same time I have a child on spectrum, and with the

Having a hard time figuring out where to buy a long term house. We both work in the city, and have a kid. We want decent space (is a yard too much to as for?), good schools, nice town, walking distance to the train. Yes - I’m hoping unicorns do exist. So far something like Bronxville and Scarsdale seem like good options. Open to checking out other towns in any region as long as the commute to Bryant park is close to an hour. Any suggestions?

I’m realizing I have a lot of fear—mostly related to health stuff and death. Feel like people are getting sick left right and center (not talking about covid). I’ve never had anyone close to me become very sick or die—don’t know what I would do if this happened. I’m also overly concerned about my health and seem to be at the doctor every month to get something checked. Can anyone relate or provide suggestions on how to overcome something like this?

I need some help. I need to lose 40 lbs. 5’2, 170 lbs. i started working out more but then stopped because I was miserable doing it. Decided to focus on diet and I just end up binge eating. WFH also makes it harder to be active esp when working out (the cardio at least) makes me so miserable. I do walks sometimes but that obviously doesn’t burn enough to mean much. At this point idk what to do. Keto helped in the past but now I can’t even find the drive to do that! What do I do?
