It’s absolutely rude to change your mind after you rsvp, but I think destination weddings put a lot of pressure on attendees. People want to be there to celebrate you, but it often means spending a lot of money on a destination that isn’t where they would choose to spend their money. I don’t think there’s any way to handle it but accept it and move on.
So confusing that they book everything and drop out- what are their reasons?
We also have less people coming than expected but like you said focusing more on who is than isn’t. And the most important thing is that we’re getting married.
Aw, it sounds like you did everything right in terms of making it a fun weekend for all.
Also lol to your friend going to NYC instead- they’re gonna spend more here and it’s definitely not Italy.
I’m sorry op. But sending you all my good vibes for a wonderful wedding weekend and a happy marriage!
Sorry to hear OP. My wedding is this weekend in Italy and we did have one person drop out last minute last week, but due to a very good reason. It's unfortunate that people are not respectful. I don't think everyone understands how much work is behind planning an event like this. How close are you to the wedding?
4 weeks 🤪 hope you have an ans ong time this weekend!!!

Had this happen too and some of the reasons were such BS that I was like maybe if they had just say sorry can't come it would have been better. Literally had people cancel 2 weeks before the wedding, which was so annoying because if they had said no in the first place, we could have invited other people instead.
We actually did call some local folks at the last minute and I'm glad we did, but felt so bad because it looked kinda rude on our part
