I'm from Houston and can confirm the humidity. Dallas is very pretentious and Houston is more accepting of diversity. Consider these very accurate judgment maps of Dallas: http://judgmentalmaps.com/post/93214491560/dallas and Houston: http://judgmentalmaps.com/image/91260959870
As someone who was born and raised and Dallas and will never move back. I implore you to reconsider. The city has no culture, awful segregation, and is the most pretentious place in the country outside LA, SF and NYC. If you really want to live in the South, I'd recommend Atlanta.
I've lived in Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas. Anyone who tells you to choose Houston over Dallas likely has not lived in both.
Don't forget no state income tax
Rent is cheap! Restaurants suck! Consider Houston, much better food and more stuff to do!
Hahaha Houston is hell on earth. You'll move out of crap craphole within a year.
Austin>Dallas>Houston... I've lived in all three Texas cities, currently in living in Dallas - I like it
Dallas is amazing. Don't listen to the nay sayers.
Houston > Dallas; I've lived in both and biggest differences are: Houston is more diverse (for food, people, and activities), and Dallas people tend to have more attitude & are more materialistic.. So much more fun going out in Houston vs Dallas not dealing with such entitled attitudes
Yeah cause most of Houston is Mexican and black. Dallas has a better mix of all races.
Lol M1 lost all credibility with the last statement. Houston is literally the nation's most diverse metropolitan area.
D1, I've heard Houston is unbearably humid and any truth to that?
Definitely more humid in Houston but I wouldn't describe it as unbearable. Both are incredibly hot during the summer
I guess you can't post links anymore. Just Google "judgmental maps" for Dallas and Houston
Dallas has drier heat but it's warmer temperature wise. Houston is totally the way to go
I love Chicago but my SO hates the cold weather. I promised her we would look into warmer locations Dallas was the biggest office that came to mind SF Is too expensive for my taste
^ try San Diego or Seattle
LA
Yes, you feel significantly more comfortable in Houston as a minority. I've lived in both for extended periods of time
@D4 - actually the most diverse metros are San Jose and New York. Don't spew lies.
