Yep. Appreciate the concern.
The variety of challenges (problems to solve), companies (business models to learn) and people (connections to make). I've been a consultant for 20 years and I love it.
^i hope you're making more than 200k at this point
SA1, you're in the wrong job. Or firm.
Why is a good question. Following
Yep.
I would say, the skill building and exposure to different industries and their challenges. As a closet entrepreneur, it offers me a chance to look around for gaps and potential opportunities.
Yea def not for me. I literally hate it.

Consulting has never been about the money for me. So long as I'm paid fairly, I'm happy.
Most clients are in dinosaur industries I have 0 interest in, I think the work itself suffers from the way consulting / client interactions are structured - there are serious issues to consider at times and delusional upper mgmt just all seem to want a quick 10 week fix to a problem that's been plaguing them for literally decades, traveling to shitty places, not getting to fall asleep next to my smoking hot SO, dealing with too many personalities on long implementation projects, 0 work life balance, working for a toxic firm that doesn't care about our career development or interests .... I could go on!
SA1, you need a vacation. Spend it working at a non profit or otherwise helping others and you'll come back a better person.
@sc2 what? I agree that I need a vacation but not sure what the judgement on my value system is about if I think consulting is silly. I worked as a teacher before my mba, and it's actually the very reason why I think I can't swallow the drama and hysteria that goes into this job and don't buy into it. I can't wait to go back into the education sector but can't break up my resume quite yet.
I hear you SA1. I think if you have been in "real jobs" before consulting, this is about as dumb as it gets. The entire model is wrong.
😂
Greater than.... 400k?
(Could just tell us your salary, lol)
We'll put D1. The issue is that my concept of a fair compensation doesn't match our firms 😝
Project based work provides the opportunity to continue to learn and be challenged. A closet entrepreneur can do well in a private firm.
Sa1, why do you hate it?
