I am whining about you whining about people whining over trivial stuff ☝️
Want any cheese with that whine, OP?
It's the Hedonic Treadmill. We live crazy privileged lives compared to most of the world.
I would call it entitled more so than privileged. It's one of the main reasons im not interested in networking. More than being the quiet, shy kind, listening to people whine about how they were stuck in traffic while sitting in their Uber Blacks browsing their expensive phones, or how they have it "tough" because they apparently settled for Sheraton over Westin for the week, or how they are badasses because they book their Thursday night hotel stay on Thursday morning gets exasperating to listen to.
This post just reminded me of all the whining I haven't done this week - I was actually happy before I read this whining post - THANKS OP
Bitching is a sport for consultants. I don't mind the little shit, but griping helps pass the time.
Personally, I wonder how much people actually get out of hotel upgrades. For a better view, sure, but I spend so little time in my hotel rooms I only really need a decent bed, a shower and a desk. A suite is overkill.
Sure there are people with "real" problems, but my sprained ankle doesn't hurt less because someone else has a broken leg. It's okay to worry about your own small problems even though other people have bigger ones.
As for consultants constantly whining, however, I think most folks who do that really are boring people who just don't have anything else to talk about.
@M1 nobody said all your problems are unreal. I gave examples of trivial issues | @A1 yupp, boils down to privilege
@P1 I saw that comment coming - reason for my disclaimer. I'm just advising ungrateful people to re-evaluate perspectives. There are people with real problems

I'm on PST, so not yet!
Eh it's in aggregate. Flight delayed to a big annual vacation, no big deal. Flight delayed 2x a a week consistently, disgusting food on the road consistently, pubes in hotel room bathroom... it wears on ya.
