People who hold a JD and work in tax, how much did you make as a tax manager or senior tax manager? Alternatively, how much did you make 10 years into your career. Just wanted to see if it’s worth going back to law school if I already hold a CPA and am at the manager level.

JD/LLM here. If you’re already in public accounting there’s no need to go back and get a JD. You have your credentials to move up in the firm and a JD will cost you $100k and 3+ years of your life. Hard pass.

I agree with the others. It’s only worth going to law school if you want to work at a law firm.

I recently accepted an offer (company X) for Aug 1. Com X (big company) is a media planning role (same title I have now: Senior associate), but in a different media type & pays $10K more ($70K). However, I had also applied to PM roles and had no luck with getting any callbacks until recently.

Com Y, is small (<100 employees) but pays $80K+. Would it be weird to take an offer and then leave (if I get the com y job)?

Com X job said I could be sup/man given time, earning $80K+, advice?

Anybody here work in Canada? Specifically Vancouver? The cost of living here is outrageous, and I feel like I don't have a fair compensation. I'm currently making $75k with a $5k bonus as an EA with 6+ years experience, and 5+ years experience in my company's industry. Our company doesn't give out yearly inflation raises, so I feel like I'm falling behind. Is this fair, or should I be going after more? Can anyone in Vancouver, Seattle, Canada etc. shed some light on their salary?
