I had a call with someone in South Africa when I was interviewing with KPMG Houston a couple years back

Yes, I had this experience as well. It's a call to basically check the boxes and confirm the information on your resume. To me it seemed pointless because the recruiter had sent an email prior to that call with the exact same questions. About a day later the recruiter reached out again to introduce me to another recruiter who would be setting up the interviews.
Ok thank you. None of my KPMG friends had experienced this before but glad to hear it’s normal. Just seemed a little random.
Had a KPMG screening call about 3 weeks ago for advisory and the call was with someone from South Africa. Wasn’t expecting that. My next call was with someone about 4 to 5 days later.
