Beyond anecdotal “feeling” which is an incredibly inaccurate measure (how can you possibly know the rate you are passed up relative to others), at least in the US there is empirical evidence that the whiter your name the better your job prospects (from a white male)

Echoing what McK1 posted. There have been studies that show identical resumes with different names get treated differently. And we know unconscious bias and blatant discrimination exists so this is no surprise.
I have a standard, but not too common name. And I grew up in a predominately white neighborhood. I've been told "you sound white" after meeting people in person. I'm not white. This is how I talk. So what the hell does it mean that I sound white?
