What are my fellow Indy advisors using for benefits? Our family ditched the traditional medical for a Christian share plan last year, So far all is sound. How about Dental? Any bad experiences?
Responded to medical rfe. It was from SC, not a local FO. Does it mean they won’t probably ask me to do an interview locally?
My sister and I are 29 and 31, respectively. I’m struggling with something that has irked me our entire lives. My parents pay for things like her dog’s medical bills, vacations and moving expenses. They always want to help. The problem is they’ve never offered to pay for those things for me, and I’ve never asked because I’m a fully grown adult and don’t want them to spend their retirement on us. She has savings and isn’t struggling financially. Why does this bother me so much?
Loafer recommendations? I’m sick of Gucci but looking for something equally comfy. Under ~$700 ideally
My offer was accepted! Yay! But my offer was $45k over listed price. I’m feeling sick! My realtor and I agreed it was undervalued based on recent comps nearby and there’s a lot of development happening around the neighborhood so I’m hoping the house’s value will continue to go up. I love the house and after months of looking I’m so glad they accepted but I just hate how much over asking I’m paying for. Anyone else immediately feel this way? Make me feel better? Or call me an idiot, idk what…
For sick leave, do you send your team the calendar invite the morning of or the night before?
Has anyone worked for a company that produces/researches CBD for medical use? And...would you say it’s Pharma?

10w 🤰🏻, traveling at the moment and prenatal vitamins are really making me sick. I throw up whenever I take them, but that’s my only source of folic acid. Is it risky to not take them?
Does anyone know someone who was placed on a pip who then found a way to get on medical leave so could apply to jobs while still employed? (Idea being that you greatly extend your opportunity to look for jobs while still being able to say you’re at current firm. Example: Person gets 1 month pip, gets medical leave, then is able to look for new jobs for many months rather than 1 month. If you don’t know anyone, any opinions on how this could work?
How do I get in contact with a headhunter? Or at least get on their radar. I’m at a boutique firm in Upstate New York with 2.5 years experience including litigation, medical depositions, appellate briefs and a pending brief before the Court of Appeals. I would prefer to move laterally into either a legal research position or litigation associate role in the NYC area. Appreciate any insight or feedback.
Friend of mine has been sick for a while. Y'all have recommendations for soups that are easy to cook and digest?

First year associate here ... Thoughts on what to tell my team about me taking a random Wednesday off cause i don’t want to work on my birthday. We are the kind of team that tells each other why we are out of office, sick with etc. and i know they will ask. Just don’t want them to know it’s my birthday. Hate my birthday but figured better to be off than working 🙃

Heard through the grapevine. Bunch of analysts got fired for getting too drunk at DU and passed out in the bushes. Can anyone confirm or deny?
Have you ever worked with a partner that points out every error you make (regardless if it’s nothing or a bigger error) but never points out anything good you do or says thank you? How do you not let it slowly chip away at your confidence and self-worth? I try to let it roll off my back, but it does ultimately affect me and my enjoyment of my job.
I think PGA/LPGA camera operators are very under appreciated. I mean, the skill it takes to spot, zoom in, and track a tiny golf ball flying through the air at 150+mph over and over and from multiple angles is incredible. I literally can’t follow my own golf ball leaving my club much less someone else’s with a camera mounted on my shoulder.
It seems that most exit ops require some sort of SQL. Is that something that is needed for many roles/should I start learning. Do not have an interest in coding languages so want to see if it’s worth my time. Please advise

Hello, I am considering joining Deloitte, . I wanted to join as a manager, however, offer might come as a SC. What would be the difference in salary % wise ? would it be worth it to go as a SC instead of Mgr? Do I even have the option to negotiate or to say why I think I should be a manager and not a SC? Have you seen something like this at a big 4? How about WLB? Thanks
