I recently interviewed at Facebook (Meta) for enterprise engineer E4. Feedback from recruiter was very positive. Everyone on panel recommended me. Received an offer for 223 TC. My current salary is significantly higher (amzn L5/sde2). I am walking out but curious:
1. Is that a standard meta offer? I thought meta pays better than amzn and googl.
2. I have been asked by my recruiter to provide my current salary as data point to go back and negotiate. Isn't that illegal? Facebook (Meta)

They had a conflict? How can they take a fee if they have a conflict? Not sure they get anything.
Since they had a conflict- not sure if they are entitled to a fee- check your ethic laws in your jurisdiction
I agree. Call the ARDC hotline and ask.
Are you sure this arrangement is permissible under your state bar? Pretty sure its prohibited in my Jx
I think this arrangement is illegal in most states. Check the professional rules of your state.
You'd be fine. The issue comes from a referral without doing any sort of work.
I agree with Chair and Managing Partner 1. No fee when there is a conflict.
My gut is to offer 20% but not sure if this is too high- in no way shape or form are they getting more than the 1/3 I was initially entitled to. Curious to hear other perspectives.
Agree. I think they may be able to recover costs but if there is a conflict, seems like no fee. If your bar has an ethics counsel I would contact them to get their opinion.
A referral fee plus any outlays for records, investigations, etc. Or no fee at all if conflict. A thank you note?
