Normal? I hope not. Common given the circumstances? Absolutely

Don't look if you don't have to. Things are cyclical but have in the long term trended up.

I wouldn’t worry. I assume you’re heavily invested in S&P or something close with your investment mix. The market will recover in the long-term. And unless you’re the first 65-year old SC I’ve seen, you have plenty of time to wait until you need to use your 401k funds.

Yeah everyone is in the same boat you are in. News flash: it's sinking

like

Yep, for now. Although I still feel like I’m overall still coming out ahead since this is significantly lower than my tax bracket.

Mine is -20%

-4.09% YTD in my 401k

Keep investing it will come back up. Stop looking at it and wait. When we recover, we always do, you will have bought into the market low and your long term returns will be much improved. Play the long game or do not play.

Mine is -25%. Normal for now. It will come back. it will be a long time. But it will come back.

My holdings were mostly cash and bonds because I thought the market was overvalued. The small exposure to market I had still took me negative...

Mine is -17% year to date.

Very happy I’m at -6% with all things considered.

Down -12% on my 401K which I’m alright with given current economic conditions

Peaked at -25 or so now hovering around -10 in my index funds

I wish we could freeze any investment/movement in our pension pots temporarily!

-18.57 on 529 account & -10.98 on personal account ☹️

I have not looked. At this point, I probably owe them money.

Looking for advice. Just started new job that allows Roth 401k. I have a previous traditional 401k worth about 50k and a Roth IRA worth about 40k. I’m 26 and make 150k total this year. My new company allows for mega backdoor to Roth IRA. Should I rollover my old 401k to an T-IRA or rollover to my new employer? How should I split my new contributions between traditional and Roth 401k? Should I mega backdoor after tax to my Roth IRA? Thanks in advance.

My wife and I would like to retire at age 50 (or earlier). We’re in our early 30s. We’ve been maxing out 401ks and IRAs for years and started contributing 20k a year into a taxable account to start filling the gap since we can’t access 401k until 55. At what point should we be reducing 401k/IRAs and redirecting to the taxable account? Otherwise our income balloons late in life. Curious how others are managing this.

Hello I just started my first job (I’m 22) and I need to set up a 401k for matching with my company. I’m really confused how this works because I want to try to hit the IRS maximum of $19,500 for Roth contributions this year. Maybe it’s too late in the year now, but it’s asking me to pick my desired contribution % per pay period, but I’m not sure how much to do because it says it’ll kick in 1-2 pay cycles and I don’t even know when the next pay check comes yet. Any tips would be great

But they have not included that bonus % in the offer letter. For those who have worked at PwC, is this a norm? Have you seen them follow through the Bonus payout? Does the bonus % change significantly from YOY? What are the individual objectives/targets that need to be met at the Sr Manager level to earn the bonus?

I think my 2yr old son is having severe social anxiety issues… he is perfectly fine at home, playing and laughing and talking. But outside especially when other people get closer to him (especially small kids at his age) he immediately freaks out, becomes very anxious, and would try to flee the scene as soon as possible. Ever since he’s a baby we take him to play ground everyday and he is still the same. Any moms experienced the same?
