Ok. Thanks.
I cheated through high school, cheated and paid people for good grades in college, and now I cheat clients for a living. I still feel like I’m lucky.
We are comparing “apples to apples” and you are not.
There is injustice all all income levels however, low income does not equal injustice.
Another perspective 👍🏼
Another perspective: we busted our asses for decades to get the best grades, go to the best universities, interview with the best firms, and do the best client service possible. It's not entirely unreasonable to be dissatisfied at times if your comp doesn't reflect fair market value.
Perspective: you made good choices, worked hard and ignored bullshit, you deserve everything you get.
It's like I disagree with everyone. Yeah we work hard. And yeah, if you got into harvard you still probably are super privileged, cause, ya know, some people are born in South Sudan.
SC1 - logically Harvard grad consultant A and Harvard grad consultant B, hired into the same firm at the same time doing the same job should be compensated the same. This is not always the case, which is an injustice.
Separately, people born in the US are privileged in many ways over people living in South Sudan as well as every other country in the world.
These are 2 completely separate issues.
When so many smart people miss the point...
Six figures would be nice to have 6 years in...
Wow M1, sounds like you’re walking the edge there dawg. Def get some counseling and get all that shit out so it doesn’t consume you.

Eh. I couldn’t break 60k before b school bc of my chosen field (despite going to ivy) and I hate consulting. Can’t wait til my bonus clawback is up so I can leave. The hours are absurd and the work is often reductive. There’s all kinds of perverse incentives at play and I don’t feel like the clients benefit at all. I find lifelong consultants (e.g., people who’ve done it since undergrad with no other experience otherwise) to be limited in their thinking and way too convinced in their own value. On and on. Money is nice but it isn’t everything and I’m looking forward to finding the right job that aligns with my values.
Broke 6 figures at 24, but people in PE making multiples of that
I make what my father in law makes after working for 45 years. I am 29.
