Has an offer to join a smaller but growing firm. Will get a decent raise, but I'm concerned about the lack of delivery capability. Seems like the expectation is they want you to be able to do it all, and they brand and technical breadth is not as established. Looks to me its high risk and the reward is just the raise they offer. Anyone has similar experience can share their experience?
DOJ will reissue a sentencing proposal for Stone after Trump complained about it being “unfair” on Twitter. Raise your hand if you think he will issue a pardon for Stone eventually.
Is it wrong to not want a promotion? Ive been told I’m on track for one soon but I still have sooo much to learn at this level and I don’t feel ready to move up. I am, in fact, terrified of the next step and the responsibilities that come with it. Has anyone turned down a promotion and regretted it? Been glad about it?
Yay!! Just promoted from junior analyst to analyst!! First promotion out of college 🥲 so happy! Got a $5K increase too. Best news this year 😄😄😄
Would anyone move to a different firm that is unstable but gives a promotion plus 50% increase for same job?
Would you move from D to other Big 4 with only 20k raise (115 -> 135k)? Assuming you need to restart GC process from scratch a year after joining
If you started working at a company for like a year as a staff level, for example 2019-present, and this is reflected on LinkedIn, do you guys update any promotions to show it as (the date or year of promotion) -present... or just show it as 2019-present? I’ve seen people do the latter more but is that even right?
Is a year too soon to ask for a raise? If you've made a handful of things, some of them pretty cool, including a 360 campaign? Also...forgive my inexperience, but who do I ask about a raise?
Is your company doing annual raises this year? If so, what’s the typical annual raise (%)?
Senior Account Manager (similar level as Senior AE) making $85K. Trying to figure out how much to ask for during this next review time; looking at an Account Director promotion.
People accepted counter offer and got higher pay and raise again. Should I also do this? Is it ethical? I’m in tax NYC office.
Applying to T15 in R2. Currently have a 700 GMAT (43Q, 41V) after taking once. Even if I raise my quant to 47, which would be impressive for me, I’ll still be at a 700 (possibly 710). 3.6 undergrad GPA. Worth retaking? Or just focus on the rest of my applications?
When your partner puts time on your calendar for a one on one next week with zero context…it is promotion season but I’ll surely be overthinking this for the next week! 😬😬
Should I ask for a raise? My 6-month review is next week and I’m thinking about asking for a raise. I’ve never asked for one before and normally would never think of asking for one until at least 12 months but in the last couple of months my role and responsibilities have enhanced significantly. I don’t have much experience as this is my first job in advertising (comms background) and I don’t want to come off as naive or ignorant! Any advice would be welcomed. Thank you!
What are the ladies wearing to promotion day tomorrow? Want to be casually dressed for a celebration but still work appropriate
Incompetent senior is up for promotion this year and is mostly likely gonna get promoted cuz she knows how to kiss asses. A couple people on her projects already quit and no associates want to (con’t)
As delta becomes the dominant variant and is known to be as transmissible by both the vaccinated and non-vaccinated, can we really continue to blame the non-vaccinated anymore for the spread? If so, why?
We’re finally going engagement ring shopping tomorrow!! I love the look of diamonds but I just can’t justify the expense at this point in our lives. Any suggestions on alternative stones?
What is the difference between working in consulting in SF vs. NYC? Looking to relocate after UG, but want to make sure I'm making the right decision. I'm thinking about WLB, network, exit opp, culture, price, quality of life, etc.
Preping for an interview for MBB. I never know how to prepare for the “tell me about a time you failed” q. Can anyone offer best way to approach this and perhaps an example?
Bring on the mandates. Can’t wait until PA firms follow industry on this. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2021/07/31/disney-walmart-vaccine-mandate-delta/
I just found out a lawyer 2 years my senior has written off some of my time through our secretary (and without partner approval). I’ve never heard of this happening (eg a non-partner taking it upon themselves to edit another lawyer’s time). I’m not even sure if this is allowed and I reckon the partners would be pissed if they knew. Should I call this out? Biglaw firm.
3 yr post undergrad currently at 100k base. Offer from industry with cash comp of 175k but would derail b school plans and would have lower earning potential in the long term. Advice from the fish?
Best office chair? And other WFH splurges. Looks like we’ll be stuck working from home for a while. What are some worthwhile splurges to make WFH more enjoyable?
First time negotiating salary with multiple offers. I would appreciate if you can provide any advice on negotiation tactics. Do you disclose your other offers? Can they rescind their offer if I ask for higher compensation? I am trying not to come off as a newbie that they can lowball me
Had a final round interview with the EY partner last Friday, 2/22. Recruiter told me they would connect with me early next week. Still haven’t heard anything. Any thoughts on actual timeline? Thx!
My sisters coworker is a confirmed case of Covid - do I need to alert my own coworkers? (We live together which is why I’m worried but unsure of etiquette)
Anyone else stuck in DFW?

Anyone has any idea what the tech screening is and how is it like at Deloitte for SAP? What can one expect out of it? And how are the interviews for SAP positions? Thanks in advance!
Finally found my exit to Google. Taking a step back in terms of responsibilities but going from 98K TC > 193K TC. Couldn’t be happier but hope I don’t get bored too quickly.
So burned out from surviving COVID at AWS that I'm actually thinking about going back to consulting since it was less work. How's the Transactions/M&A world doing these days?
