Phone systems: what do you guys use - landline/voip? I thought a land line would be best, so I used AT&T and pay $230/mn for fax and two lines. Service seems bad with AT&T.

Vonage for about $40 a month with an efax by Nextiva for $10 a month. I also have the Vonage ap on my phone, so I can be out of the office, but clients won’t know.

I use 3CX with a SIP phone provider. It is a VOIP system that work in a cloud or can work in house. I use it in the cloud. There is an initial upfront cost. But it cut my phone bill to more than 1/2 and it paid for itself in 7 months. Just for the phone like I pay $1.25 per phone number (not per line) I have 5 phone numbers. Each outgoing call is 1.2 cents per minute and incoming is less than a penny a minute (.0092 cents). I compared going paying per minute versus unlimited. I did a side by side comparison of the average monthly minutes and was surprised that unlimited costs way a lot more as on unlimited that you need to pay based on per line or how many simultaneously people will be on the phone and incoming calls. I also pay a fee of $25 per month to host the system in a cloud. Can host onsite, to save $$$$ as long as you have a good IT that can respond should there ever be an issue. Me I just rather have it offsite

Honest question: Does the consulting pay/benefit model need to change given the likely travel restrictions continuing for the foreseeable future? Many consider the travel, expensed meals, points, travel in lieu of, etc large benefits to the job/career and view WFH as a loss of benefits. Others, myself included, view WFH as its own benefit.

How risky would it be to join a retail company right now? Just got an offer for their strategy team and it seems tempting, but their response to Covid and their Q1 earnings were abysmal. Furloughed a lot of store employees and even corporate, closed stores, and their Q1 revenue dropped 37%. They have a lot of cash on hand, but still...

Hi all, I’m wrapping up my first year in audit and am looking to a potential exit in sales - I have my CPA exams passed but don’t have the 1 year experience quite yet. I have a final round interview for an entry level SaaS sales role with a first year base of ~75k and 20-30k in commissions assuming I meet my targets. I have a feeling if I secure the position, I won’t be able to delay the start date before I hit my 1 year experience mark. I want the credential but don’t want to pass this up.

Does anyone think big law firms will start allowing people to live anywhere (i.e., outside of their office’s state or beyond a comfortable driving distance) given the whole somewhat indefinite wfh thing? My lease in NYC is up soon and I’m not sure I should renew.

What’s the long-term play on LMND. I’ve used them for rental insurance for past 2 years and I love the platform. Filed a claim and it was sooo nice not having to call up and dial 1, 4, 3, 9 and then have to be on hold for 15 mins. Was paid instantaneously (stolen mtn bike). Their overhead has to put them at a big advantage, or so I imagine. More than doubled on the ipo today. Will it cool down is it fixing to be one of those new age retail investor (chase the magic dragon) bubbles? What to do
