EY1- I actually didn't apply for this job, just came to me but what EY2 said sounds about right. However, the public accounting world is so small so if you are moving between firms, your secret may not be so secret.

Most of the time prospective employers understand if you don't want to use your current employer as a reference

That's awesome! :) When you applied elsewhere and if they asked for references, how did you get around not having references from your firm? Or did you have references from people at your firm?
