Do you think using “him/her” for “he/she” (ex: “her is playing” “him not here yet”) is something that kids usually grow out of? Or does it need direct intervention? I have 2 students who exhibit this error, who otherwise should be dismissed. Normally I’d just keep them on and work on it alongside other goals, but they don’t have any other goals, and with COVID, and my upcoming maternity leave in March, a more compact caseload would be advantageous.
Laid off from my marketing manager role (specializing in global events and special projects) on June 27th as retaliation for calling out a leader to HR who wanted me to “resign” in mid July. Before I go the route of cashing out my retirement account just to make sure we don’t lose our apartment, anyone hiring for something as basic as a remote project coordinator role at least so I can keep bills paid and still have time for school?
Anyone have a sense of why Deloitte got hit so hard by layoffs? I’ve heard four potential reasons:
1. Client mix / type of work
3. Over hired in anticipation of growth
4. Partners didn’t want to take a haircut
Just curious! From an external perspective, seems like they cut way more than the other firms.
I am an Associate in Corporate Cash Management filling in for pat leave. The person is expecting to return in Sept.
There is no guarantee that I can keep this job. So I want to explore what options I have if they don’t decide to keep me.
My current job is focused on RFP writing, product/project coordinating, improving and building models (pricing, net interest income calculator, etc.) not directly client facing.
Any idea about the URL wherein mock test could be seen for Nagarro second round MCQ for project managers
Need quick (10-20 min) mid-day exercise recommendations. I don’t need to lose any weight, just really need to get my body moving and would love something that helps build some strength. The only time I can really do it with new baby and work is lunch time so it also can’t be TOO sweaty. Recommendations on videos, guides, etc to help me establish some type of daily exercise routine? TIA!
I like to think of things incrementally… have been on a real health kick for 3 weeks. Started w keto, refined that to be kept with calorie deficit, added strength training, added long walks for low intensity steady state cardio. What would you add next? Some hiit? Stretching yoga?

Supply chain Folks. I have a friend who is looking to get back to work after maternity hiatus of a few years. She was a buyer. She wants to pursue CSCP. Will it help her chances of landing a job? Tks!
Who has an amazing marriage? I need a marriage mentor of sorts-I believe that an amazing marriage can be my marriage but I need help. I don’t have couple friends who are in amazing marriages. Most tolerate or are divorced. We have mentors for other big parts of our lives-career, being a mom…not really anything for marriage! I want to keep believing it can be a source of energy and comfort through life’s ups and downs.
I have no idea where to post this, but is a anyone else super weirded out by LinkedIn lately? All these pictures of people using their kids as props for parental leave, or how their kid has a disorder and how proud they are? I just came across a post that was a woman lying next to her mom who had *literally* just died. I feel a little cold hearted saying it, but it is so over the top on what is supposed to be a professional network. Am I just totally out of touch?
sick with covid and my cd hinted at some vague issues with my development and now I feel even worse.
Any advice for best ways to learn to better understand/read legal contracts? I have to deal with warrants (equity) in my new role, and I struggle to understand what is actually being said. I just finished my MBA which did not have any elementals of business law/ reading contracts. Thanks!
Company approved me hiring my first (non-lawyer) direct report! Excited to cross this off my professional bucket list but I know hiring is the tip of the iceberg. What books, articles, general pro tips, etc. do you all recommend for "being a good boss" advice, esp. geared toward a first time boss?
Hadn’t noticed this sub before, and most of the threads are old so thought I’d ask a follow up - how has everyone been handling parenting with public accounting? I’ve got a toddler and my wife is an accountant (industry), and we only have a few immediate family in the country- but they have health concerns. Busy season was rough, things are looking better now as things return to normal. Still working crazy hours if you count the daycare duties on top of utilization targets.
What advice do you have for someone who wants to make a quick and seamless transition from operations to creative?

I bought 2 houses this year for a total of $120k down including closing.

I'm a co-founder of a midwest travel tech startup focused on allowing you to plan travel faster, easier, cheaper . . better. We're running a little incentive/hack for booking your first trip through Tempore, this could either be in the form of flights, hotel, or rental car. Plus we have access to proprietary discounts and concierge support.
The last 18+months have been extremely challenging as a travel startup, and would truly value the support/opportunity (no fees whatsoever). Link below!

Hey moms. Need some help. 3 month old baby spits up a lot about a half hour to one hour after feeding formula. He’ll be sitting in bouncer or boppy and it just comes out. We’ve been using the same formula since about when he was born so not sure why this happening now. And I do burp him after feeding but if one burp comes out then I consider it one and done. Thoughts?...
