Cognizant Recently cognizant have changed their internet wfh allowance policy.we use to get 1800 per month as internet allowance without submitting any bills or transaction details. Now they changed the policy as we need to apply for icici/axis/hdfc credit card from there we need to make the transaction and reimburse the same. I am ok with everything but why i need to apply for credit card? How a company can force me to have a credit card? It will directly/indirectly alter the credit score right? Cogniza

Hi Everyone, I am trying to apply for a Technical Support role at Dropbox I’m entering all the required fields but there seems to be an issue, when I hit submit after filling the form, it doesn’t submit and throws error ‘Looks like you left this blank! Please fill out this required field’ when all the fields are entered already (I have checked so many times, and filled the form from scratch several times too). Anyone from Dropbox who can put me in touch with HR or suggest what I should do next?
McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

I would suggest you stay anywhere but Times Square, especially with kids
I feel like the Marquis is the most iconic and memorable of the three, though personally wouldn’t recommend staying in TS at all with 2 kids. I’d opt to stay near the park or farther downtown (flatiron, the village, etc.)
I’m taking my daughters to NYC over Labor Day and I’m going to stay pretty much anywhere BUT Times Square. I love NYC, but Times Square is not NYC at its best….at all.

Where are you planning to stay?
Stay at the Fairfield Inn at 58th and 11th, right below the Lincoln Center neighborhood on the UWS. Nice and quiet, walking distance to Whole Foods, Columbus Circle trains, Central Park, 57th street for restaurants, Carnegie Hall etc. It's not a good idea to stay in Times Square right now. There are lots of vagrants and mentally ill people in that area right now due to Covid. Also, there have been several shootings right in Times Square recently. It's fine to visit but don't hang out there too much until the city returns to normal and the crowds and cops are back.

Just out of curiosity, why wouldn't you want to stay downtown on the square with kids?
If your kids are 10 or less then I’d say no to staying in TS. TS is crowded, noisy, dirty, and the folks in the cartoon/superhero outfits will annoy you to have your kids take a picture with them short of demanding money. The Sheraton is probably the best bet since is steps away north and a tad quieter. You should still go to the Marquis and enjoy the revolving restaurant at the top - great views of the city.
I love the edition but don’t have kids so not sure it would meet kid requirements…but it is lovely!

The Edition is great but I think it will depend on your kids’ ages. You’ll get some dirty looks if they run around or cry out in the lobby - lots of people use the lobby bar as a nice place to get a drink.

I used to stay in the residence inn on 54th, it's not in times square but a little north and I was always treated very well there.
Second this! I always picked this one because the rooms are way bigger and you have a kitchenette. They also use to have free breakfast. Guessing it’s a bit that great grab and go right now. Anyway, this was my preferred place to stay to to space and your not in the middle of the time square mob, but super close.

Marquis is AWESOME!
NYC is not what it used to be in recent years, you need to be extra vigilant in Times Square and do not stay there with kids. If I were coming to NYC as a tourist now I guess I would stay by Central Park.
If you’re visiting as a tourist stay midtown. You still will have that right in the middle of the NYC people see on the movies feeling, but at a pleasant level. And getting anywhere from there is crazy easy.
Agree with others that TS is too crazy for kids and it’s hard to keep them with you, etc.
We’ve stayed here multiple times - near Bryant Park and NYPL but also an easy walk from a grand Central and TS.

It's been a couple years, but unless they renovated the Westin, I wouldn't stay there. My room was awful, and the non-rain shower nozzle was somewhat broken (water came out, but it wouldn't stay in position). They were very busy, and said they couldn't give me a new room with a fully functioning shower (despite being titanium).
