I stayed at the courtyard in seminyak and it was nice, good location
Bali Mandira.... Not Marriott or SPG but well worth it. Beautiful place next to the beach and good quality breakfast. Let me know if you need recommendations!

Thanks guys. I am trying to avoid anything that is spring break-type. Have been told by a friend to avoid Kuta. Looking at a couple of properties in Seminyak and ubud. Going there for 5 nights, so not averse to staying in two different hotels
Would any of you recommend staying in Nysa Dua?
*Nusa Dua
Ubud is totally worth it if you want a more nature oriented trip, I rented a house in the jungle for like $100/night with a private pool...totally worth it
I think seminyak is a nice area and not spring break-y. I find nusa dua to be too much of a resort town and doesn't give you enough of a "Bali" feel
Actually rather than a hotel, your best bet is to get a private villa. You can get some amazing ones on airbnb
OP - we stayed at the Ritz Carlton Nusa Dua and would highly recommend. Paid full in points :) they had a butler, we got upgraded to a suite, the whole shabang
Thanks fam!!! Since this is a solo trip, private villa is not an option. Booked the Sheraton in Seminyak for a night and the Sthala in Ubud for 3 nights. Will make a game time decision for the last night. Leaning towards Nusa Dua
Also thinking of getting a private tour guide to cover all the temples and sights over the first couple of days, then take it easy and be a beach bum or explore the rainforest for the rest of the trip
Quick question on carrying cash. Do most shops/restaurants/bars accept credit cards and dollars? Or should I carry Rupiahs?
Get rupiahs - exchange it over there. Much better rate. Some places accept credit cards but carry local currency. Climb Mount Batur. Do the white sand beach or dinner at Jimbaran beach. Also get the private driver. The one that drove me around was really nice. Enjoy!
Getting to ubud is not easy, make sure you get a legit ride lined up in advance. There's ATMs at the airport, cards in ubud are hit or miss
Will do SC2
Just got to Seminyak. My room faces a mini rice paddy. The hotel roof top restaurant has a view of the ocean. Food and alcohol are cheap. Live band playing. Life is good 😊
The only thing I will miss is the season finale of GoT. Don't lose any more dragons, my khaleesi and stay alive king of the north!
