I spent a month in the Yucatán and drove around as a solo F and had no issues. I think you can have a quiet time in Tulum if you want it. I even stayed at papaya playa project and other than one full moon party kept it low key. Definitely go to sian ka’an. I’d spend more than one night in Merida. The ruins near Merida are so much less crowded than Tulum or Chichén itza. My favorite was Uxmal. I also thought the cenotes outside of Merida were less crowded.
Awesome - 🙏
Will look these up. I only have a week though.
If you’re a Marriott person and are interested in inland things, I really like the Haciendas: http://www.thehaciendas.com
Very nice! I feel like I need more time there… :)
There’s plenty of boutique hotels around Tulum and Playa del Carmen. Azulik hotel is on my list. They tend to be smaller and more non-resort like. I also recommend renting a car when you get there maybe at the airport, If you rent ahead of time, there could be opportunity for scams, meaning you already paid so therefore they give u whatever car they want instead of what you asked for, if that makes sense. Definitely hit up Valladolid in Merida, and Chichen Itza if you have not been before. Must sees.
Thank you. Azulik looks great. Great tip about the rental car. How safe is it for a woman to travel alone? I’ve done many road-trips on my own including Israel and Turkey.
