Planning a wedding anniversary trip this summer and don't want to break the bank (US based). Really just want to spend time together, some romance, eat some good food, and not be sweaty all the time (see earlier note on romance).

Any suggestions?

What’s the budget though? People have very different ideas on what breaks the bank. Aruba or the Bahamas if you don’t want to go too far. Turks and Caicos if you can afford a little more.

Paris and the South of France if Europe is an option.

like

I would say Aruba if it was summer. It’ll def be sweaty ha. Poconos? Lake Tahoe? Willing to go international if price isn’t horrible?

like

Meant to say Aruba is it wasn’t summer ha sorry

Not “breaking the bank” is subjective. What’s the per person budget?

Europe - hit Paris then the South of France, it can still be kind of warm. June in Portugal is pleasant and Lisbon has wonderful restaurants.

South America - their seasons are opposite ours so the US summer will be their winter but it’s not overly cold. Brazil is a good option, I’ve been to Florianopolis in November. It’s pretty in expensive. Other places to consider: Colombia - Cartagena or Buenos Aires.

Mexico - opt for Puerto Vallarta, hotel museo or Punta Mita, Tulum has hotel be. But it’s p hot.

Greece - very popular, you would need to book ASAP - try Oía, Naxos, Crete. You could pair Italy with this trip depending on how long you plan to stay.

Hawaii - opt for Kauai

Take a road trip up through coastal Maine. There are really cute hotels and reasonably priced Airbnbs.

The food in Maine is INCREDIBLE. Obviously there's lobster and seafood, but Portland is one of the best restaurant cities in the country. Multiple James Beard award-winning restaurants there.

like

Coronado - mild weather, really good food (from casual food stands on the beach all the way to Michelin star restaurants), just a chill place to retreat to during the day/sunset. Can pop over to San Diego for a couple days if you’re more adventurous. Ride share the whole time, no rental car needed

Depends on what you like. If you like mountains, natural beauty and a bit of hiking, Banff national park in Canada or whistler/ Vancouver area. Even Montreal/ Quebec City are nice. States side, Seattle and vicinity or Colorado will be great. If you like beach, San Diego. If you like arts and just overall less active pace, Savannah And Hilton head will be a good option. Clearwater/ St. Pete’s will be another option but will be hot and sweaty. Myrtle beach can be another option.

A nice trip to the Caribbean You would love to go Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. You can Check online beautiful Resort with all included.

Most of the islands mentioned are very expensive to eat and stay, so depending on what you consider budget conscience these may or may not be a good choice. I’d recommend calling a travel agent who can put something together and make recommendations based on your budget. They usually charge a small fee ($50-$100) but it’s worth the expert advice. They’ve usually been everywhere and can help you put together the perfect honeymoon. Plus you have someone to call if anything doesn’t work out as planned.

The commission has been dramatically reduced and eliminated in many cases, so the fee is justified for the work they do. It’s a professional service like any other (tax prep, legal etc)

Coasta Rica… it should be cheap during the summer months

Aside from activities like bungee jumping or live sports events, most of the other activities costs little to nothing. Debating on saving up and just escape for a bit just like that.
